PS90 Mods?

Post by diablo » 09 Aug 2010, 19:27

I will getting my first PS90 TR soon and wondering what mods are worthwhile doing and is there anything you wouldn't recommend?

Hehe yeah.. that really all depends on what you're planning on using it for... plinking? bedside gun? maybe you're an 'operator'?

Needless to say a good optic would be a great add on. I've become quite a fan of the Acogs...

If you're lookin for more involved mods.. SBR is awesome.. if you have the gen 1 trigger pack, you can create a light crisp 2 stage trigger using one of the guides on this forum.. Are you a hand-loader? maybe you could use the bolt and barrel mods for heavier loads?

Really.. the possibilities ARE endless.. :)

Main purpose will be SD.

Which model Acog do you have?

I have a spare Eotech at the moment, so I will put that on for the time being. I have been wanting to check out an Acog though and the Eotech is for a .50 Beowulf I'm getting. So I will need to get something else for it at some point.

Will SBR with out a doubt. I have a lawyer now to set up a trust for me.

Just starting to learn reloading. Heavier loads are in the future. Is there info here on bolt/barrel mods?

I will definitely start looking into the trigger mod.

Yeah agreed, if you go SBR, forget the ACOG. An AIMpoint Micro T1 unit would work best. It's a small compact unit that fits nicely on the TR rail.

Well.. for up close SD role.. -and this is just how I'd do it.. I'm sure many would disagree-

I would want a large apature red dot of some kind.. very fast target aquisition.. 0 magnification
Think I'd put on a laser, for even faster aqusition..
I would want a good tac light for sure.
50rnd mag goes without saying.... but I said it anyhow. LOL
I'd want a sling that could be thrown over the shoulder super fast...

I'd even consider a supressor.. the PS-90 isn't super loud.. and its not like you would be using it every day indoors... but in tight quarters the sound could be pretty damaging..

again.. that's my personal preferance.. some might JUST put on a light, and call it good... and it would be for indoors 15 yard max fighting... but lets face it.. part of the fun is trickin' it out. :)

depends on the feel when you get it out of the box, but you may want to open up the safety selector and sand down the points a little to smooth out the switch. I'd also play with the trigger spring tension a little to smooth out the trigger pull, don't do too much though.

If it were mine and I were doing it all over again?
SBR for sure since its for SD and it makes it easier to clear walls when in hallways.
Low profile optics with low or no magnification, perhaps a red dot reflex.
Internal laser (just because I saw the 'how-to' on the old site and thought it was a clean and uber-cool project).
Duracoat the thing in urban camo, just because I could and so it would match my jammies...cuz I'm a Mall Ninja extraordinaire! :lmao:
