Resizing Lake City once fired 223

Post by The Keymaster » 17 Apr 2010, 15:53

Has anyone had experience with Lake City once fired 223. I am having an issue with this brass and my Hornady sizing die. The cases appear to be bulged at the bottom, and get stuck in the die even when properly lubricated. Suggestions???

I've resized thousands, but with a Lee die. Never had a problem.

I've also re-sized a thousand or so about 6 months ago, also with a Lee die, didn't have a problem either.

Same here, several thousand, using Lee dies. Only thing that sucks with LC is that you gotta swage the primer crimp out.

Lee's built in stuck case remover is awesome.

Ok, Ok, I get the message, I will order a Lee Die. :p I got the first 2 stuck yesterday, and became concerned about the sizing die. I figured the Hornady die was too tight for the bulge at the bottom. Thanks for the input guys!!! :thumb:

Ha, it turned out to be the shell holder. I happened to have 2 so I started there. The shell holder was holding the case at an angle, and causing the entire problem.
