Ultrasonic cleaning

Post by mickey223 » 25 Jun 2009, 13:08

It just keeps amazing me, how I can use a little lemon oil, some tide and an ultrasonic cleaner and in ten minutes have cases that are clean inside/out and beautiful shiny primer pockets.

A little water bath for a rinse and a quick dry in the wind tunnel and ready to size/trim/prime/powder/load/shoot and repeat.

Does that impact the lacquer coating on the 5.7 brass at all?

I would think not if you aren't using Simple Green or leaving it in too long. If you left it in too long then the sonic sink would eventually cause the lacquer coating to come off, but if it was a short bath, I could see where it wouldn't.
Excellent find Mick!

What kind of ratios are you using for the water additives / cleaners?

Thanks!
