pull marks

Post by fzr confused » 16 Dec 2008, 19:16

my buddy for Christmas is getting a dillion 550b from his fiance. i am getting his some bullets and im looking at them on GB. i see the m855's for about 80 for 500 new or 105 for 1000 with slight pull marks and resized. would the ones with pull marks not be a good idea? also, i know both the .223 and the 5.7 are .224 bullets, so i could use the m855's in the 5.7, right? or is the overall length not the same? if i used the m855's (ss109's) in the 5.7, would it basically be the ss190???? i would like to think yes, but then again the m855's are 62gr and idk if i would want that in my FsN. his fiance is getting him the press and for his bday which is in january im getting him a few more calibers for his collection....of course im only gunna buy the calibers i have an interest in ;)

The m855 is a 62 grain projectile. It's quite a bit heavier than SS190. I buy SS109s in bulk for .223 rem reloading.

You have a source for NEW SS109s? Or are they pulled?

resized?

62gr is twice as heavy as SS190. Even if they aren't too long, you wont get enough speed out of them to be worthwhile.

They don't actually HAVE any, they just have a web page set up for them in case they ever do get some.
