223 reloading

Post by JoJo » 11 Aug 2012, 10:12

I have a substantial supply of 223/5.56 brass to reload. My bullet of choice is Berger 77gr VLD/Tactical. The suggested load of Varget is ranging from 22.5gr to 25.5gr and none of the recipes involve Berger bullets.

I need some input from people I trust! Also, has anyone seen Kevlar shooting gloves for sale anywhere? Yes, I am PARANOID.

I would recommend contacting (emailing) both Hodgdon & Berger & ask them if they have any data for that bullet specifically or what would be equivalent.

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN fix stupid - it's just illegal.

JoJo, hit up the highpower forums.

The Berger 77gr VLD is disgustingly beautiful and I rate it over the similarly grained SMK.

Varget; 22.5 sounds about right, I would not go over 25gr. Watch it at 24.5.

I sold my Kevlar gloves already, or I would send them over. However, you have nothing to fear with CCF's on an AR.

Trust me, I have been there many times when an AR had CCF's. Everytime, no one was injured.

Just wear your eyepro.
