12 Gauge Bullpup

Post by Rover » 06 Dec 2010, 13:49

Picked up this blast from the past over the weekend. Its a Mossberg 500 with a bullpup stock. Think they were made from the mid eighties to the early nineties. In pretty good condition, looks like its never been fired.

Very nice! I'd never heard of this, thanks for the pic. Where did you snag something like that? I love my 500 so I am very eager to hear all about this. Lots of questions but I'll wait till you shoot her some :)

Nice find. I bet one day they restrict all Bullpups to CLIII, since they are pretty much as short as a fixed-stock SBR.

That is pretty sweet looking! Is the carry handle removable?

Man that is sexy!!! Never heard of one of them. I love my 500, but that's a lot nicer than mine!

The handle would have to go. I would put a rail in it's place.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the VHS rifle style handle either.

You might be thinking about the High Standard semi auto bullpup shotgun. I think that's the one with the integrated flashlight.

I actually saw one of those at the same show.

I seem to remember that these were kits made for a short amount of time a long time ago. You still see them pop up on gb every now and again or fully assembled like that one.

They were sold as complete weapons by Mossberg and Maverick in a couple of different configurations (like 500 and 590 lengths and shotshell capacities).

The kits came later and weren't warrantied by Mossberg. Pretty easy to tell if the weapon was original or assembled from a kit by the presence/or lack of a front bead sight.

Not a gun for a left hander, unless you like to eat warm hulls.
