panthers are good AR's. That also sounds like a good price in today's climate.

Price is good! Can't even built one mutch chipper, unless you were buying parts with dealers discount.

A very good price. The only thing I saw missing on it was since it started off as a flat top, it you want to use iron sites, you'll have to get a front site post.

I'm kicking myself right now for passing up a like new norico AKM at the local gun store the other day for $500. You need to jump on the deals when they present themselves to you.

If you really want a AR-15, and you plan on putting an aftermarket scope on it, this is a great price.

Same gun new will run you about $1k here in VA now without the extra mags.

i LOVE saying this..." Get it before Obama does."
Look on gunbroker and anywhere else.
You can either not find an ar-15, or pay significanlty more right now.

No kidding! Colt 6920s are selling for 600-700 more than I paid for mine right now. That is crazy. It's got me considering selling an older Colt Match HBAR I have.

I've not heard anything bad about the DPMS products. I think all the brands are building decent stuff with the availability of CNC machining now. The price sounds good too.

FWIW...DPMS is a subsidiary of Cerberus ( the same people that own Remington and Bushmaster) You would have pretty decent product availability up until the point management decides to consolidate product lines between divisions to cut costs. Then you'd be left with a great rifle and thousands of spare parts floating around the country. Your task will be to find them.

DPMS shoots as well as any brand in the configuration you are talking about. I wouldn't say you'd win every high power match you enter, but you wouldn't lose strictly because of your equipment, either.

The rifle you are referring to (if I am assuming correctly) would be a great shooter, hunting rifle, etc...

And the price at this junction of fate and politics would be decent. A similar rifle is for sale locally here for over a grand, no spare mags but it comes with an uncle mike's soft-sided case.

If I didn't already have too many rifles, I'd have already bought the one I think you are referring to...
