The Main Battle Rifles That Won World War II

Post by Amsdorf » 27 Jan 2013, 06:48

In the hands of brave men fighting against the Axis powers, these battles rifles were used to win World War II:

The Lee-Enfield
The Mosin-Nagant
The M1 Garand

I put this video together to give folks an overview of these rifles, a closer look at them, if you will.

Do you have these rifles, or any of them, and what do you think of them?

I had a #4mk2, mummy wrapped made in 1956 all numbers matching. The best version ever of the Enfield. I loved the hell out of that rifle and had to sell it when times got tough. It was from a batch that was uncovered in a warehouse in Ireland around 1992.

These "non-assault" rifles (no pistol grip, 30rnd mag, 'barrel shroud,' flash hider, folding/collapsible stock, but DO have bayonet lugs) have a pretty good track record and body count...

Never shot any of them, but certainly would love to. Got a replica M1 carbine as a wedding gift that someday I'll find some ammo for and shoot a bit
