Ruger 10/22 Takedown

Post by jgreenberg01 » 24 Apr 2012, 11:37

So I wasn't a big fan of the .22lr round, but for $300 this rifle seemed like a good deal. Plus over time it could save me a LOT of $$$ in ammo considering today's prices.

I put over 1000 rounds through it today (how expensive would that be with a 5.7x28 gun?)... not one failure of any kind. Not one. I used 3 different kinds of bulk ammo plus CCI. I used the factory 10 round mag and an aftermarket 25 rounder. I shot fast, I shot slow. The thing just works!

The big question I had was: would it maintain its POA/POI after breaking it down and reassembling it? You'll have to watch the video to see.

What, you thought I wouldn't make a video? :laugh:

Yeah, now I am a .22lr fan!

EDIT: whoops, hold that thought - got screwed at the youtube drivethrough. Have to upload the video... again. Just another 6 hours, grrrr!

After Bill died, they finally made Ruger into a "competitive" company. I'm glad they are balancing it, and not streaking towards the tactifag route.

I finally got to check out the Ruger SR22.

Fortunately, I didn't like it, because I have to save for a USPSA gun, still.

So I still don't own a .22.

I don't plink, don't have a suppressor, and don't have the time to just "go shooting" unless it's with good friends. Every visit to the range is for a specific purpose, and plinking sadly isn't ever on the radar.

I used to shoot through 1000 rounds in 4 hours, training for NRA competitions. I kinda'f miss it.

....MoGB accuracy. I love 10/22's. Mine started as a $180 carbine and is now closing in on the Kidd One Thousand Dollar club! Ammo is still affordable, tho. Great video. Thanks.

Thanks jg, I've been thinking about getting a .22 rifle. I liked the collapsability (word?) of that one but hadn't seen anything about it until now.

Go with a shorter version and throw on a folder...

Yes, and they can be demanding too. This one wants better optics, or, failing that, a better shooter!

Can someone help me find a reasonable scope for me new 10/22? I have "tactically" searched this forum and found little. I have also searched the internet and now i am asking for my extended family for assistance....

http://muelleroptics.com/category/produ ... ire-scopes" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/119797 ... icle-matte" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This is what seems to be what the internet gurus are pointing me too. However I am open to any and all suggestions....

Thanks

I enjoy my 10/22:
