Blackout upper

Post by Rouge701 » 13 Feb 2012, 15:40

Hey everyone I'm in the in the market for buying a new AR. I was thinking about something different this time and was thinking about .300 blackout AR platform. Does anyone have a setup like this? If so how well does it perform?

Ordered a Noveske 8" upper last week. I'm itching to shoot it. It should be here tomorrow and I'll report back as soon as I get some trigger time.

Here's what I ordered (upper only)

That is sexy, Zhur. My next AR will be 300BLK.

Same here, although, for extra quietness, AAC's micro 7 is next on my gun list, along with a SWR octane9hd.

This thing is fraking awesome!!! Was clanging a 12" steel plate at 200 yards and tearing up 3x5 cards at 20 for a couple of hours last Saturday. No real noticeable recoil difference from a standard AR, but with twice the punch. It's super loud though when the muzzle is a whopping 14" from your hearing protection, but that will be remedied as soon as Surefire releases their 300BLK suppressor (and a 5-6 month wait for the stamp, booooo.)

Oh, and it's really handy. Balances so well that you can pretty much shoot it with one hand. Not that you'd want to, but you could. hehe

I'm betting your friend didn't get it recently. Current wait times suck. I'm waiting on my 4th and 5th stamp. Its been six and three months respectively.

Actually he sent his in November and got it back in January. I sent mine in October and still don't have it.

Mine went pending 9-15-11 and was approved 2-27-12. You could buy your 10" just have a family member who does not own any ARs keep it for you till you get the stamp back.

The ACC micro 7 had some feeding problems and the estimated date of the Handi-rifle was pushed back another 3 months.
As hot as I am for the caliber I dont really care for teh use of a 308 action to feed a 300BLK. I can just load subs for a 308 and get more versatility.
Not a CZ micro mauser or a SAKO vixen sized action would be a sure bet.
And you can bet your boots that if ruger makes a Mini-30 that takes AR mags in 300BLK i will buy one...
2?
