XDM .45???

Post by jgreenberg01 » 22 Apr 2010, 09:20

Ok, so the May 2010 issue of American Rifleman has an ad for the XDM 45 saying it's coming soon, with a link to their website. The site makes no mention of the 45 version and a google search only brings up pages with people inquiring as to if/when it will be available.

Does anyone here have any inside info about the actual release/ship date?

WOW.

How have they NOT already come out with a .45 version? wtf.

Yeah, ever since the M's came out, they look really clean. People have been shooting them at the steel matches, I've been meaning to ask them to try one out.

Not a fan. The XD comes in .45, but just not the XD*subscript M* ... yet

I like the 3.8" barrel versions the best. They look the most proportional.

From talking with Davidsons, my rep tells me we are not going to see the .45 XDM's till the end of the year.
As for the 3.8" sub compacts his understnading is that they are breaking or binding guide rods ( Colt Defender )
and will likely not be out anytime soon. Remember this is a distributor rep speaking but figured I'd give you guys the
info I have.

I've got the XD-45 service (4") and I would buy the M just for the barrel upgrade. The XD is a great platform. I can't really describe why ...it just points/shoots well.

Well that design has been kicking ass for almost a century. I'd have gone with that too.

the 3.8" XDMs are out and shipping and available already? I dont think they call them sub compact either.. They're only .2" shorter than standard service XDs.

Sorry, I was talking about the sub compact in .45 which is 3.1". Shortest barrel XDM is 3.8" with standard
being 4.5", since we are being particular. Either way neither the sub compact .45 or the XDM .45 will
be out for awhile. And YES the 3.8" are on allocation.
