warthog

Post by fzr confused » 07 Oct 2008, 15:34

any input on the para ordinance warthog would be appreciated. i am looking to maybe get one this weekend, thanks :). i was really interested in the FNP 45, but the warthog just seems to be more practical with my needs even though its a bit more money. my friend has one and i really like the feel and the size of it. he only has a few rounds through it so i have no first hand knowledge of the reliability and all that stuff. anyone out there have any?

get a glock 30sf and save your money. Actually, do what you want...I dont know much about the Warthog. I just know that if I was gonna get a .45, it would either be the G30sf or one of those little Kahrs.

The Para Hawg is a good gun. I owned one for a time. It was just too clunky for me to get comfortable with. It shot good and after about 100 rounds it fired anything I put thru it. It is a little pricey though. Another though that won't break the bank is the EAA Compact P in .45. I fired a friend of mines and it was alot better than the Para. I just have never been a fan of the Glocks, if you like them you love them though, so each to his own.

im going to assume you mean the g36sf? both the 30 and 36 are .45's but the 36 would be in the same size department as the warthog. i thought about the glock but it has a limited capacity and the warthog doesnt. i am a glock fan and i am part of GSSF but i like the look and the size of the warthog better than the glock, that and the 4 extra rounds helps make the decision easier in that department.

I test fired a couple of hogs and liked them, but ended up walking out of the store with the LDA Carry 12. Just personal preference. I have not experienced any feed problems or jamming with that little gun and I'd imagine its cousins are the same way.

I've also recently learned that Para's customer service is pretty darn good.

But to each his own!

i was wanting this gun for a cross draw style holster and figured if it was a tiny gun like the warthog it would fit well. i have tried the small of the back style with my XD45 and i cant stand wearing it.

i stand corrected, grant was correct. i now know the g30sf is what you meant to say and the g30sf still holds 10+1 like the warthog....i ended up getting the warthog because i liked the look and it felt better in my hands. i may get the g30sf down the road, but i need to start saving money.

yea...I did mean the 30sf because the 36 just doesnt have the capacity. Let us know how that Warthog works out.

I thought it was a Halo thread the first time too. Got excited too as I think the warthog would be an awesome swamp buggy! :lmao:

The 30 or the 21 SF make it feel that much better shooting. I wish they would make a 20 or 29 SF. Although, you can buy the 30 SF or the 21 SF, and the respective slides in the 29 and 20 will fit on the frame. An expensive way to comfort. :thumb:
