The Evolution of the Revolver

This is so totally cool. I wish I could cut and paste the info from the website, but I can't, so there is a the link at the bottom of the post. Polymer revolver. Ultra light weight .38 Special+P. Revolution or Evolution?

Ruger Firearms announces the new Ruger Lightweight Compact Revolver (LCR), an evolution in revolver design. The 13.5 ounce, small frame, 5-shot LCR has three main components: a polymer fire control housing, an aircraft quality aluminum monolithic frame, an extensively fluted stainless steel cylinder and unique double-action trigger.

You know, tuarus usually makes the most innovative stuff out there.

I am suprised that ruger came out with such a cool revolver, and not taurus
The trigger, I heard, was also cool because it is much more crisp and lighter than the standard revolver triggers out there.

All I know is, I want one.
And and LCP.
And a SCAR.
And an F2000.
And a...oh, snap! I'm sounding like my 13 year old. :(

USFA President and CEO, Douglas Donnelly, Introduced the worlds first 12 Shot .22 L.R. Revolver.

“We are very proud to introduce the New Model 12/22TM a new and innovative design for a full size 12 shot .22 cal. Revolver. We have shot many thousands of rounds through the new 12/22 and it performs….an accurate, durable, robust new design that has never been done before. We even beat all .22 Auto-loading pistols in magazine capacity - a meaningfull increase of 20%.”

This gun has a new lockwork to accommodate the 12 shot cylinder. This innovative design is accomplished by unique changes to the internals and a new ratchet design. It works very fast actually going through all proper benchmark stages in half the normal timimg yet continues the full hammer travel and look we have grown accustom to.

Model 12/22TM Features

* All Steel construction
* Traditional Full size
* Traditional Full Cocking Action
* 12 Shot .22 Will Accept all .22’s

Just a thought, in more potent calibers revolvers such capacity would eventually lead to timing problems and shaving lead. I wonder if the 22 will escape this?

I am sorry but $1300+ dollars for that POS.
No thanks.
Thank god taurus doesn't charge an arm and a leg.
I cannot see myself spending 1300 bucks for a revolver.

Sorry Fuzzy, but that simple one liner was too easy to miss. I felt this fine piece deserved it's own thread.
So :p back atcha! :D

Llagoud, that 12/22 looks awesome, but man, that is some pretty thin metal between the rounds on that cylinder. Still, I'd like to see her in action. Looks like a full size cowboy .45 in profile.
I need a good holster plinker. A fullsized one at that. I wonder what USFA is gonna charge for that puppy?

It is 1.5 ounces lighter than my S&W Model 638. Mine is also a 5 shot .38+P.

Pretty cool. My LCP is still my favorite carry gun. I don't even know I have it on me.
