News on new pistol variant?

Anyone know if the folks over at Excel Arms plan on producing a version of their Accelerator in something more suitable for carry (maybe a shorter barrel and double stack mag)? They seem to be an economically sensible alternative to the FN, but their current offerings just aren't suitable for EDC.

No they aren't and there pistol with the longer barrel is a damn fine hunting pistol.

I can tell you there is another world class manufacture of combat rifle that is currently testing an all metal prototype mil spec pistol that uses FsN magazines.

It is being testing with my ammo and will come from the factory EA ammo approved.

It's is being positioned to sell along with their rifles overseas.

They are also going to sell it in the US civilian market and the price point is $500.oo

Thanks for the info, Jay. I was hoping you'd have some insight. That sounds really interesting. I agree with BruteandBear1, whose the company? I can try to keep track with them instead of bugging you on here out of sheer anticipation. Also, if you guys hear of anyone looking to sell a FiveseveN I'd rather buy it here than on GunBroker.

Understood. If it's going to be available soon, I'll hold off and get in line for it. Or I could end up waiting quite awhile...
hmmm... :ponder: Difficult decisions.
Thanks again.

I consider mine (5.7 Accelerator) a 600 dollar suppository. Won't cycle (regardless of ammo), several major defects, NO return correspondence from mfg in several attempts, won't answer phone. It does shoot pretty well, trigger is OK.

Buyer beware.

What are the issues you are having? Some of the first gens had minor issues. The one I have works fine.

You got a hand picked thoroughly QC'ed unit due to your position in the marketplace. I'm Joe Schmoe I got one thru normal channels.

Biggest QC issue is a frame casting defect, the rear tower for the rear slide screw is missing about 1/2 of its material around the screw threads (casting flow/void), thus the rear screw will not stay tight. 2nd major issue is the bolt face looks like it was machined by Fred Flintstone, bad enough to stamp big chunks into the case head on firing. those two items NEVER should have left the mfg this way.

Intermittent cycling leads to FREQUENT case jams and a bent/damaged recoil spring. 2-3 jams a mag, I'm lucky if it cycles twice per 9 shot mag. Doesn't matter what ammo. In fact its worse with FN ammo.

Things occur, its all about the way things get handled when they do for me. Not responding to correspondence and not picking up the phone after many attempts = You Suck, Excel.

They DO NOT practice normal QC and let dumb things go all to make a buck, and leave you holding the bag. Hell if I'm going to spend the money on expensive FFL shipping to and from the mfg for an obvious its their fault problem, it can sit in the safe. They can go fly a kite in a storm.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

Yeah but it's a rehash of a MAC 10, A gun with ergonomics worse then any gun in history.

There is another manufacture working on a semi rifle AR style in it though and it will use the FsN magazines.

But it does not use the FsN magazine, it uses a propriety magazine.
This new rifle uses the FsN magazine like their entire line of AR style rifles that use pistol mags.

Yes they do.
