My latest handgun. I wasn't going to do a video review, but the thing is just too much fun to shoot!

So a 10mm is basically just the same as a .40 Super and Wonderful, right?

10mm is literally the OG.

They should call it 10 OG.

Kidding.

Nice, Fly's book is great! The 10mm is pretty sweet too.

Yeah, I felt like a tool too. Jeff posted on my FB page and asked if I had seen his review. I hadn't...having owned that particular gun, I knew EXACTLY how well it shot, so I passed it up...like a dummy! But I figured if he took the time to post a link to his review on my FB page he was up to something...a shameless PLUG for my book! LOL!! (thanks Jeff!)
Then so much had been going on here that I hadn't been able to really spend much time on the boards.
But, one thing about this particular weapon that I can't say, but I've heard others talk about and I thought I'd share. With this being a 'match' weapon, it's not really designed to be a 'combat' weapon. Meaning, if it gets too dirty, it tends to jam. I never experienced that with mine, but then, I never tried to use it as a combat weapon. It was a plinker. Simply a target shooter. I still loved it and carried it often, even used it as a duty weapon a few times, but never experienced any problems.
Does this mean it might have if it got dirty? I don't know. How dirty did the other people mean? I have no idea. They didn't go into detail. Maybe blue needs to get his hands on one and find out for us....

I agree, if anyone can break a gun... it's Blue!

As far as your book goes, it wasn't a shameless plug. I have to admit that I'm a fairly jaded person and am not entertained easily by books any more. Having said that Mr. Fly, you are one helluva story teller - I literally couldn't put the book down. Now I sit here and wait for three things:

1) IWI to ship my Tavor
2) The ATF to approve my flogging tax stamp, and
C) Your next installment to come out!

Fly;

I can verify that the EA 10mm match does jam. When you pack an opened slide with snow and dirt.

:D

Don't ask me how I know.

Testing, firsthand, is the only true way to find out. I did this, and all you have to do is dust the dirt off from the INSIDE top-side of your slide, and it'll function 100%. Further, any gun with an open slide with mud on the inside of the slide won't function correctly most of the time.

The EAA 10mm match was handed to me for testing, on that day. It isn't my gun, and I don't own it.

God bless whoever invented that Wonder Finish...I friggin love it! LOL!!

Jeff, I'm glad you liked the story. I've talked to a lot of people who have read ROP, and I'm still surprised that they found it enjoyable. I think that once all of the stories are out, they'll enjoy the completed series better as they really are a back-to-back tale. I tried to leave a few loose ends in case I ever decided to revisit the characters, which...really were only beginning to become developed in the ROP and truly take on lives of their own in the next three titles. But I never really intended to go back to the Monster Squad series unless more or less FORCED to.

I've been working on Whispers for a while now and am probably half way through it. It's been a lot more fun stepping away from the MS series and doing something totally different, too. But the craziest thing happened and it sort of pissed me off...inspirations come at the strangest times and when they do, I'll let my mind run with it to see how far it will go. It hit me the other day while I was in the shower and my mind thunked up a truly kick-a$$ story, nearly from beginning to end...for a FIFTH installment to the MS series! It made me mad mainly because I didn't want to ever go back to it unless I felt that I had to. But the storyline sounded so good in my head, that I may not be able to NOT address it...
I dunno yet. Maybe I'll work on it a little off and on in between other projects. Or not at all...I dunno yet.

You guys are killing me! I feel the stirring of a latent 10mm jones. I can't buy another gun; I can't buy another .... well, maybe rice and beans would be OK for another year?!

Mr. Fly, I don't read the horror genre but the rave reviews do pique my interest.

There's always room for another gun, especially 10mm.

Bindle, I'm going to make it even worse. I was in that same boat, trying to fight off buying into another caliber, ignoring the promptings of this forum. Then someone went into my local pawn shop (LGS) and sold them a box of 500 rounds of CCI 10mm ammo. They sold it to me for $100. Then of course I had to get a gun to go with it. I bought the EAA Witness in the Wonder finish. Dang. It is too much fun. I don't have any problem paying for full price ammo for that one.

When EA listed the 10mm ammo for sale  I started to look for a 10mm and bought a EAA Tanfoglio Witness Hunter.

Oh my...I'd LOVE to shoot the Hunter.

Oldblindstuff, trust me when I say that there are some things that are simply WORTH the sacrifice. Once you've gone 10MM, you'll wonder why you put it off so long. You can spend a TON of money and buy TOP OF THE LINE like a Dan Wesson or a Custom Shop whatsit, or you can spend a FRACTION of that amount and get an EAA Witness and THINK you paid way too little for the weapon. Seriously. When I first got mine (and yeah, she was used) it was so smooth and silky that every one of my other firearms felt like it had grit in it compared to the Witness. They were rough and stiff and...just ROUGH. The Witness Match is so smooth and satiny and silky and such an utter JOY to shoot. You won't regret it.

As for the MS series books, I don't know if I'd really call it a 'horror' genre or not. Whispers will fall into that category for sure, but, if you were one of those that was forced to sit through ANY of the Twilight movies and you wished through the entire thing that a SEAL team would just come in and start mowing down everyone, then you might like it. Not sure what 'genre' to put that in though.

Well, I've always wanted a 10MM. Maybe if I get a tax refund this year! I'll check out the Hunter, but, I suspect it is out of my reach at the moment.
