Ruger 22/45 Lite

Post by NLVMike » 16 Apr 2012, 20:20

I am somewhat of a .22 addict. So when I walked in to my local gun store/pawn shop, the owner just smiled and said, "get out your debit card". I hate that he knows me so well. He had a new 22/45 Lite on the first day they were available, so I did too. Haven't shot it yet, but it sure feels good.

Cool. Let me know if the trigger feels different than the previous Mark III triggers. Thanks.

I've only dry fired it, but so far I would say yes, as it surprises me every time it clicks. I want to be surprised, but I don't recall being surprised by a Mark III trigger in the past. I will update when I get to the range.

I have a MkIII 22/45 & just switched out the hammer & put in a speed strip kit from Majestic Arms:
http://www.majesticarms.com/id10.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Slight improvement on the trigger & no more mag safety. The strip kit lets you remove the bolt quickly but not separate upper from lower - still gotta do that the old fashioned way.

What's so special about the lite? Sure, the threaded barrel is good but what else?

Aluminum upper? Meh, you can do better. Aluminum isn't as durable as steel. I don't wanna be worried about dings when some dingaling knocks it off the bench.

Come on, impress me! :p

It is a pretty much a Tac Sol upper on the cheap. I have one in the mail for me. I love my other 22/45s but wished they were a little lighter.

If you dont mind me asking, what did it run you?

It was $375. Heck, I'm not even trying to impress myself, I just loved the feel of a lightweight Mark III.

I've got three of these coming in next week. They sure do look pretty!

I ordered one of these myself and i must be weird because I actually like the color. Everyone on the rimfire boards are complaining about the colors.
