Most Common 9mm
Thinking of re-tooling my arsenal. Recently had a Glock 19 and was impressed with it's simplicity. I think I'd favor the 17 if I were to be a Glock fan.

I like my Taurus 99 and 100 (BLING!). However, KISS favors Glocks.
Anyone got production data? What really is the most common 9mm in the US? The world?

Re: Most Common 9mm
I'd agree for worldwide numbers. My first gun was a HP (in .40S&W). CZ75 would be second place.
What about US numbers, though?

Re: Most Common 9mm
I agree about the Browning HP. It is my absolutely favorite 9mm, after shooting S&W, Rueger, and a few others. I like it because of it's stability, accuracy, and balance.
Plus, it is one of the few weapons that I will own forever...even though my favorite round is now the 5.7 x 28. ...Teddy

Re: Most Common 9mm
the browning is a great 9mm, however the new glock types are pretty good as well.
If you think glocks are good check out steyr or caracal, both are glock upgrades from a glock designer

:lmao:
I'm not interested in the BEST 9mm. Which is most COMMON? Consensus seems to be G19 or the 92. Mags are not interchangeable between the Taurus and Beretta, but I believe you can outfit one with the mag catch of the other.
Do 9mm glock mags work with all 9mm models?

I don't think it's the G19 or 92 (unless you're talking about USA only), but we'd have to get manufacturers stats.
Yes and no, depends on length of mag. G19 mags work in G26, but not the other way because G26 mags are too short.Do 9mm glock mags work with all 9mm models?

Re: Most Common 9mm
I cannot easily find any data on which 9mm pistol has been produced most or in production longest but I did find this on the CZ website:
Given the fact that 9mm has been around since before WW2, I would say that there could be far more CZs and FN HPs in organizations around the world than there are glocks.CZ 75 B is used by more Governments, Militaries, Police and Security agencies than any other pistol in the world.

Yes, USA. Worldwide, there seems to be agreement on the HP and CZ75.
Glock mags: different generations still accept the same mags?

I believe so. Don't quote me on that though. I have a Gen1 G26 and sold my Gen3 G21 so I've been out of the loop on the latest.

Re: Most Common 9mm
Most in use or purchased in the USA? Has to be the Beretta M9/92 just based on the military procurement numbers. I think I read once that the US Army had purchased almost half a million of them in the last 20 years. And probably more before that since its adoption.
Glock is probably pretty popular, but probably spread through the three models of 9mm they make.
Worldwide, I would agree with the Hi-Power. Not the CZ-75 though, because most of the CZ pistols utilized throughout history have been their 380 and 7.62 Tok models. The 75 has been a civilian utilized model mainly through history. Kind of always has been until very recently.
And that is just talking 9mm Luger (Parabellum). If you are talking all 9mm, then the Markarov has to be the far and away most popular 9mm pistol used in the world given it was utilized the the USSR and Warsaw Pact countries, and still used by China.

Re: Most Common 9mm
I will tip my hat to John Browning's 9mm, but I carry glocks. 9mm is my favorite flavor in the glocks... I own a 26, 19, 17C, and 34.
I like the interchangaility of the magazines and other parts.

Re: Most Common 9mm
Its not what your favorite 9mm is or what the best is (Sig 226, no arguments. Seriously, you are wrong if you disagree ). Its the most numerously or commonly 9x19mm pistol used one in the world to date? That is the question.
