I wanted to see how close .22WMR/Magnum could get to the fastest available 5.7 ammunition. I found some 28gr tin JHP, 30gr Vmax, and some 45gr JHP to continue my testing.
30gr Vmax:

45gr Critical Defense:
As you can see the 28gr tops out at 1,650 fps. Given if we even used SS198LF, we're almost still 600 fps faster than the .22 mag loading. Using my results we're still 750 fps faster with the S4M Just trying to add some valuable data points for the internet arguments

Yeah this is a different AMT automag II. It's not the one in previous videos. I shot some of the old 22 mag that was in the case and it cycled the gun rather well. It's really dirty and it had a ton of grease for lube, which I imagine plays hell on blowback actions

The FsN's advantage is even more pronounced if you compare a threaded barrel FsN, which comes closer to the 6" barrel of the AMT Automag.
