my friend is considering selling a gently used glock 22 gen 4 with night sights. he has about 200 rounds through it. I don't really want it but will buy it if I can get it for a steal. what do you think is a good price to offer?

An average used Glock has a good price of $300-350, condition ranging from 80% and up only; no damaged slides or sights etc. The most it will have is minor holster wear. However, if it has only 200 rounds through it, that's not very "used" at all and a good price would be $380-425. A steal would be $300.
He will probably ask for $350 and up. I would pay $350.
However, it being a Gen 4, I would personally not want it for anything over $300. That is just a personal preference. I have had experience with the Gen 1, 2, 3, and 4's. I have shot 4's that work completely fine.

Thanks Blue,
Next question: I talked to the guy and he said he will give it to me for $200. At that price would you sell it, keep it, or try to trade it for a different gun?

If it's what you want, shoot it. If it isnt, it is a hell of a deal and would be easy to make money off of.

nrv216 $200 is a really good buddy-only deal. That's like someone giving you their 200 rounds-down-it FsN for $400. I would buy it, shoot it a couple times, then if I don't really really like it, I'd sell it. I don't need the caliber, and .40 is only good for shooting major in IPSC. You will easily be able to sell it for $400.

Blue, you are telling me you can get used glocks in 80% plus condition in Texas for $300?
I have been looking for a good used glock for a while now. Here in Chicago and the southern suburbs, you are lucky to get one used for anywhere close to $450... I have looked at shops, gun shows, etc. I would LOVE to get a 17, 20 or 22 for anything near $300 bucks...

As we always say when people mention things like, "OMG THIS BBQ" or, "Why are people so nice here?" Welcome to Texas. GT's had a G31 with night sights LE trade in, meaning it probably has less than 500 rounds down it, for 326$. I wanted to get it and use it as a work-on gun where I experiment with different grip mods, you name it. Didn't have the cash. Anyway, That's just one example. 80% don't go anywhere near $400, even. Most are at $345-375. I have taken them apart and inspected them. LE in general hardly shoots them, from what I can tell. To find an 80% is actually HARD, because most of the trade-ins are in such great shape (like new), and mostly sell for $400~ because they are pretty much new. I mean, 0 holster wear, and when I check the inside guide-rails, they have almost 0 wear, no exaggeration. The trick is to go to the right LE dist stores, and not the ignorant rip-off places that are easy to smell a mile away. From more personal an experience, I paid $420 for my brand new 2nd hand G31 that had less than 100 rounds through it. I keep it pretty stock, as with my other guns, besides the trigger work I did on it with stock parts, and it gives me 2.5 inch groups at 25 yards, offhand. I used it in a nightmatch and there's a vid of it posted on the forum. Check Glocktalk. That's where I got mine from, with an FTF.

To all who are interested,
I just got the gun and it looks freakin brand new! Let me tell you, I'm tempted and I hate .40short&weak! As I told some of you, I am talking to my brother and one of my best friends about making a deal on this piece but if nothing happens with that I will probably end up selling it off. So... pm me if you are interested that way I can get back to you guys when I know what is going on.

at 200 bucks you can EASY go to the next gunshow and sell it for 400-450 and double your money. my last glock sold in less than 5 mins for 425. first vendor saw me walk in w/ a few guns offered me 350 and i stood firm w/ 450 till he got to 425 just let them know your not hard up for the $$ i buy New glocks for 400 w/ my LE pricing but @ a gun shop the gen 3s sell for 599 and gen 4 for 650 ish new prices vary but usually drop about 100-150 off new price.

i would hate to be buying guns in your neck of the woods if 650 is the going rate for a glock. right around 500-525 here all day for a new one. used are going for 4-450 in good condition, although try trading it in and they will only offer you 2-250 lol.
