CZ/MGC Magazines

Post by 57js » 20 Sep 2011, 12:38

Since this forum is also a great resource for CZ materials, I thought I would ask about magazines. Tach offered help in getting some 75B magazines, but I am not going to bother him with everything going on.

Anyone hear of MGC magazines? There is obviously a small price difference between CZ magazines and MGC magazines. I was wondering if MGC magazines are any good, and is it worth the extra money to get the CZ magazines over the MGC. I know the AR57 has problems with non-FN magazines, and I don't want to save a little money on MGC magazines, but then have a lot of problems.

Thank you.

With the money I have saved buying CZ's I always end up going with factory. I have though about going MecGar but then I look at the small price difference and end up going factory.

Always buy factory over aftermarket.

That said, MecGar makes very good mags. In fact, they do make CZ mags that CZ also offers, IIRC.

Any chance they make the standard 15 or 16 round CZ sells as their own?

The price difference isn't a lot so I will probably just go with the factory magazines.

Thanks.

It looks like about $10 per magazine difference so I will probably go with the factory magazines. It will be another few weeks for me to get the actual gun so I will see if I should get more magazines as I will only have two when the gun arrives.

Thanks.

btw if you get any 19round mag for under 30$, that's a really darn good price.

Only found 16 round mags for $30. Does CZ make any 19 round mags? MGC sells them, and they go in the $45 range. Will have to look on GB next.

I found a 32 round magazine by Promag on GB for $23. Know anything about them?

I've said this before; I don't know if you've read it or not. I will never buy anything Promag, end of story. :)

Buy CZ and stop wondering. You get what you pay for.

A reason why I asked was you talked about 19 round magazines, and the only 19 round magazines I was able to find are MGC. I will probably just stick with the 16 round magazines since I know CZ makes those.
