I got mine in the first run luckily and sold it on the open market when I learned the demand for over $900! To me, keeping a gun like that when I can get something else, or wait for it be more prevelant would be an opportunity cost that I couldn't abide. So I sold it. Already the price for them are dropping a bit as the guys that have to have them are buying them off.

I expect soon they will be back to retail. Then I will pick one up, only this time be $300 plus richer.
Yea, I got what you were saying there, both points. I have no experience w/ the Solo...the whole accuracy thing was a bit tongue in cheek cause we're talking about backup/short range guns. I guess I was referring more to their 1911's as overpriced. Sure they're great guns, but you can get something just as accurate for cheaper.
You really can't. Not on the whole. Nothing really compares to a Kimber Custom Shop unless you want to spend 700 bucks more. The best springers and para suck in comparison.

But back to the ballistic knives, I can't find laws against them in ND or MT. Keep looking though.

Is it bad I'm actually more accurate with my back up gun than my FsN  Tanfoglio witness elite match 9mm. Always keep a mag loaded with critical defense

I think you are missing the definition of a BUG. It would be a secondary weapon carried on your person as a backup to your personal. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see the Witness fitting in a ankle or SOB holster. Who knows maybe you carry one on each hip.

Well, u could use a belly-band (can be uncomfortable) or shoulder holster. Certainly could get away with it in winter I'm sure... but you're right Irish.... That's not really the point of a BUG. You want something small/concealable that's reliable and has a reasonable cartridge for its size. Remember, if its too big...u're going to be tempted to leave it at home...which defeats the purpose and does you no good.

my back up gun is either my wart hog .45 or my snub .357. wart hog goes in a cross draw holster (or just in my waist band or pocket) and the snub nose goes in my front right pocket.

Of course I carry on each hip! You're telling me you dont? Next your gonna tell me you don't walk around in your level III vests as well  But seriously..when you said back up gun I took it as just being a gun you like to shoot if for whatever reason your FsN or main gun was unable or not with you.

That is what I thought you were saying. That's why I clarified. Helluva a BUG!

When I do carry two, my backup is my keltec pf9 and my primary is a ruger sp101 2 1/4" 357. In the summer I usually just throw my pf9 in my shorts pocket and call it a day. I am contemplating upgrading to a Kahr pm40 (I don't like 9mm), but they seem expensive for what they are. When I carry the big guns, which is almost always my fnp45, sometimes a g21, I don't carry a BUG, but I do carry and extra mag.

I would hate 40 S&W recoil in such a small package.

Yes, it's probably pretty rough but I do not see it rougher than a max charge of h110 under a 158gr jhp out of my sp101, which is basically all I shoot out of it. I have so many hard recoiling guns, it really doesn't bother me anymore. Now follow up shots on the other hand... yeah I agree on that part.

the recoil wont be that bad out of it i wouldnt think. a BUG to me should be able to stop a threat quickly and effectively, recoil is lower on my concern list as it is a gun that to me "i would hate to need to use". now will it make a fun range gun? probably not the best, but after a few hundred rounds to prove reliability and also break in, it might not get shot that much. now, not all BUG in my mind need to be heavy in the recoil department and some (maybe even a lot) of them ARE fun range guns, just something that i personally do not take into account when deciding on a BUG. but i am also a person that likes hotter rounds and enjoys a little kick sometimes ;)

Buffalo Barnes .380+P 80gr Solid Copper Hollow Point (SCHP) @1130fps from my Ruger LCP:

This same bullet is loaded by Corbon and Doubletap as well, but at much lower velocities.

Surprise. :)

the Buffalo Barnes .380+P SCHP definitely thumps with much greater authority (and velocity) than a typical .380 defensive round, but my LCP handles them fine, and they are very, very accurate.

With my LCP's Crimson Trace Laserguard sight i can group this round at 1" slow fire at 7yds, or about 2.5" rapid fire, same distance.

It's also a solid copper bullet, so it's the closest thing to a barrier blind expanding bullet we are ever likely to get from a .380 pocket pistol. Expansion of the 80gr Barnes SCHP is in the .65-.75" range in a large number of gel tests.
