You still cannot beat the ergonomics of the CZ and the accuracy. I'll take slide in frame all day over other platforms designs. I have never been so impressed with a platform until I broke in a CZ Pre-B with one shot at 50 yards one handed, right in the 10 ring. The incredible level of shootability of them are unknown to many who do not shoot often and are not in the USPSA world.

Just recently Tachycardia along with Cencal and other users have taken my advice and purchased CZ's and CZ clones. They were blown away by the amazing platform they had heard almost nothing about beforehand.
I'm sure the CZ 75s are nice guns to shoot; they have a great reputation. I'm just not sure they are nicer to shoot than the 2022. Considering a new CZ 75b is going for at least 100.00 more than the new 2022's, it would have to shoot a helluva lot better and I doubt it does. The 2022 is also lighter as Jay says which is a plus for some. I've never heard of anybody complaining that a gun is too light. They also both carry 15 rounds in 9mm. If we are talking about the .40, the CZ only carries 10 rounds compared to the 2022 carrying 12. That might be a deal breaker for me.

Well, was just .02.

Alongside every gun out there, I shoot SIGS, also. I agree with the quip on the Mosquito. Have shot 2 used and a third one new. All were horrible.

My favourite Sig is the P210. I just think the heel/European mag release would work as well as the standard ones in a dynamic situation :)

Cz sp-01 is Da/sa. I will take my cz over my sig every day. I have had minor issues with my new p226, none that would stop it from functioning, that would put it low on my must have list.

I do agree about the Mosquito. They are not well made, and the sig rep I know actually agreed with me when I brought it up to him.

BTW Mike, I have two Sig 228s, thinking of selling one. Even has CT laser grips. Might be more than you want to spend, but the gun will shoot forever. Carbon Steel slide and all. Just an idea.

I just got to the range the other day with my new SP-01. It shot great out of the box and having two 18 rd mags was nice. I shot a P226 recently and really liked it having never shot one before. I think it's all up to personal preference. I like the P226 but feel I shot the CZ better the first time out. My .02

Witness Match, for my .02 is the best gun for the price.

A Steel frame witness classic can be purchased from Buds for $409 including a .22 conversion.

A CZ 75 is amazing as well and the Witness is a clone of it, although I prefer the witness.

As far as Sig is concerned, I had a 229 for years that was flawless.

It really comes down to what feels good in your hands and what you shoot well.

Go rent some if you can and handle some at a store.

Best of lick and let us know what you end up getting

Witness Match is the only gun I can not handle. There is a huge gun store close to me but they do not sell the Witness stuff. Everything else I can handle.

I really appreciate everyone's point of view in this thread. Im not looking to make anything happen till the end of summer. I guess I will just try to get my hands on as many as I can and make an informed decision from everything I got from this thread and from what I shoot over the summer.

On a side note, put another hundred rounds through the fiveseven this weekend. Damn is this gun fun. Wish I was working steady enough to not have to worry about a 9mm and be able to put a few hundred rounds through the Fiveseven every weekend...

The one in Glendale? 30-40 min, not bad at all.

Are you going to be out that way?

There is a possibility that I will be there August 9 – 14 for a paintball tournament held at the stadium. If I am we should defiantly meet up and shoot!

$400-$500 9mms boil down to what you prefer, I'd say go shoot as many as you can, and handle even more. Regardless of what brand your looking at there will be people who say they suck, and people who love them.

Even new gen 4 glocks aren't even glocks anymore.

And 9mm exists because its the only pistol caliber left you can shoot the piss out of without going broke, even reloading 40/45 gets spendy unless you shoot lead.

Do you have them stashed in a hole in your basement until you're ready to make a suit out of them?? :p

My favorite 9mm is the H&K P30. Shoot POA, interchangeable grips, very comfortable. For concealment, I like the Taurus 709 Slim.

Wow, ever since I picked up that new 2022 for 340.00 the original seller hasn't put any more up for auction. Now they are more like 400.00 on the low end and some guy has one for almost 700.00... lol? :/ I should have snapped up the second one that ended right after mine -FACK!

I currently own the M&P, the XDM, the XDSC and the P2022 in 9MM. I have owned a P226, a P229, and an Ultrastar. I am thrilled with my M&P 9. It had been flawless with every load I have created for it, it is exceptionally accurate, and adding Apex Tactical parts creates a superior feel.

Did a lot of research on the M&P because it feels the best to me in the sub 700 range. From what I have read its a real crap shoot. a lot of people say they shoot great, a LOT of people say they have issues. Have read and herd from others about QC being bad on these which sucks because I really like them. Wish I could get my hands on one I KNOW is not a dud...

All I can say is I have 3, the Pro 9, and the standard version in 9 and 40 with night sights. I put over 600 rounds through the 9 using 7 different magazines at a 2 day training class without a stoppage other than the ones that we intentionally created for training purposes. Do I carry this as my EDC...you bet.

So as I have stated before, the reason I wanted a 9 was so I had something I could afford to shoot a lot. That being said, I just realized CZ makes a nice looking 22LR pistol and EAA has a 9 and 22 combo in a full size. Anyone have any experience with these?

I don't have a lot experience with all of CZ's pistols, but I've shot a few different platforms.
I will say that its a safe bet you won't go wrong with a CZ. Well made, dependable and (for me) quite ergonomic.
A weapon that is made to handle both 22LR and 9MM from the factory? Haven't messed with any, but I've heard good and bad. Some have said that conversions aren't always the best bet, while others swear they're the greatest thing since sliced bread. My guess for something like that would be it's a crap shoot.
If it were me...I'd stick with one caliber. But then, that's just me. I'd just as soon pick up a Ruger 22LR wheel gun for plinking and ...uh-oh...snakes...when I'm out in the woods and the 9MM for CCW.

I have herd the same exact thing on the conversions. Some love it, some say its horrible.
