Desert Eagle .357 10"

Post by 57js » 06 Jun 2011, 12:49

I am able to purchase a brand new Desert Eagle 10" in .357 for $1270. Anyone have any opinions on this gun? I am thinking of passing due to the price, but what are your opinions on this particular gun?

Thank you.

That's fair price for going on new. Is it the one with the changeable mags and barrels or is it .357 mag only?

It is changeable. I am just nervous spending that much on one gun. Of course I am thinking if I really need that particular gun. On one hand I already have .357 mag ammo which I can use in it (how many semis can fire revolver ammo?), and on the other hand it is a lot of money.
Decisions, decisions. It is a new gun, and I know they aren't cheap. I let a used gun go when the price hit $1025.

57, you have been looking at this gun type for a little while. I've seen ads for factory new around the same price.

It's a big mother, my AR15 weighs less...

I have, but luckily it hasn't been in stock before so I didn't have to make a decision! It seems to be a fair price for the gun. Just trying to decide if I really want to spend the money on it right now.

I saw that it weighs about 72 oz. Unbelievable. I was complaining that my AR with the 57 upper was weighed a little much. I probably should just go back to my j-frame revolver...or stick with the FsN. One very light gun (FsN), and one ridiculously heavy gun (DE). At least I am not looking at the .50 caliber. I hate to carry that one fully loaded!

Not a bad price for it, but there are many other guns I would buy before it. But that's just me.

I'm to the point I want something in .50AE. There's two semi autos that chamber that, and my dad owns the AMT, and needless to say it isn't lefty friendly. I have a line on a DE in .50AE just need the $$ now:)

well if I was to find the cash I would like to scoop a Coonan 1911 this year. It's a 1911 in .357. It runs a little more than the DE and doesn't have as much barrel. I have seen them with 6" barrels and from my understanding they ship with a separate spring that's is for shootin .38 special.

I sorta want a 1911 (in 2011) and really want a nice .357 so the Coonan would be a twofer for me.

I personally don't care for the DE. No particulars why though.

the price seems fair
because D eagle 10 is one of the best pistols
and it's brand-new as said above
