What the maximum you can expect a 4.5-5" barreled 10mm to push a 180 or 200 gr projectile? Everyone talks about the "original" full house Bren-Tenn loads as a pressure benchmark. OK, who makes ammo to the original 10mm SAMMI spec these days? It sure as hell isn't DoubleTap.

I'm considering getting into reloading for no other reason than 10mm.

Good idea. Target ammo is hard, if not impossible, to find around here. When you can its >$35/50 rounds. I can load up my own for just over $10/50rds :thumb:

As far as price goes, check your local gun shows. There is a guy at mine who consistantly sells Hornady 10mm for $15 (20rnds), Winchester Silvertips for $15 (20rnds) and Remington target stuff for $20 (50rnds). I know its not the full power for 10mm but I buy up as much as I can afford every month!

When I invested in reloading, I knew it was going to take a while to pay for itself. Then I started shooting a 10mm & it looks like it will pay for itself even sooner

Whats all this I see on the internet rumormill about the EAAs having cracked slides? Can the witnesses not handle full power loads? I really thought about picking up one of their "hunter" models, as a 10mm longslide 6" barrel that I could pack for the woods.

News to me.
Jay says you'll need to upgrade the springs in them, but I hadn't heard anything about cracks.

That problem is on the newer slides/frames that are on the base models. All of the EAA's that are match or higher models (and old base models) will have the good slide that will handle any load you fire through it.

Plus EA has come out with a newer rounded base model slide that is as strong as the original square type still used on their high end models.

So if you get one of the interim ones and it cracks EAA will replace it for free with the new stronger version.

Anyone ever herd of a company called Sarsilmaz? I guess they outfit all of Turkey's army with pistols, rifles and shotguns. From what I read they are another company that is top notch that no one has ever herd of. tough as balls, durable and "as reliable as a glock." I guess in the past the .45 has been imported from EAA in .45. Now they are being imported by Sar Arms and word is they will be importing the 10mm too.

Anyone know anything more about this company?

No but it is a CZ-75 biased design and very similar to the Witness.
