Thanks for the heads-up.

edit: Online form reply
Thank you for participating in the LCPT recall. Your information has been received and is being processed.

The new parts are being built and we will retrofit LCP pistols on a first-come, first-served basis as soon as they are available.

When we are ready to retrofit your pistol, we will send you a shipping label and package with instructions so you can return your pistol to us FREE of charge.

Once we have received your LCP, we will install the new hammer mechanism, plus some other functional upgrades that we added since the LCP's introduction, and return your LCP to you, all FREE of charge. When we do, we also will send you a FREE magazine with the new finger grip extension as a "thank you" for your patience and cooperation. We will make every effort to return your pistol within one week of receipt.

We want to remind gun users that, for maximum safety when carrying any pistol with a loaded magazine in place, the chamber should be empty, and the slide should be closed. Any gun may fire if dropped or struck.

Thank you,
Sturm, Ruger & Co., Inc.

Thanks Jake.
I really hate recalls, my PM9 is going to feel like a ton of bricks after carrying the LCP.

Nice turn and burn.
UPS picked up the package Friday and retuned it today with the upgrades, extra mag with finger rest and a lovely LCP hat.
A small PITA for me, it must be huge for them.
Well done.

I got the recall package, but haven't sent mine. I tried to replicate the problem with a snap cap mine but cant make it work. I haven't thrown it on the concrete or anything. I am waiting to get another one before I send mine back.

I still want one. But every time I try to find one, they're out. And they don't know when they'll get more.

I'm a Ruger fan through and through though. :thumb:

I'm not fan of Ruger, I just like their 10/22 and LCP. As for the Kel-tec, it just doesn't appeal to me.

I am. I've only owned three of their handguns, but all three were topnotch for medium dollar shooters. I've heard people with their gripes and complaints, but I've never encountered any problems with mine, and even when others had problems with theirs, when I test drove them, I often found that it was the shooter, not the weapon.

I got my recall package in the mail today. It consisted of a flat folded box and an internal bubble wrap envelope with a single page of instructions. After you box up your gun you call their hot line number and they send UPS out to your house to pick the box up. I called their number today and got an answering machine. Time will tell how long it will take to get through to them. It took almost 7 weeks to get the recall package after I filled out the online request. I'll let you know how long the rest takes.
