fnp40 flaws

Post by ajruof » 07 Jul 2009, 22:26

i am looking at buying a new handgun
i went to the nra show in phoenix and was very impressed wit the fnp 40

before i make the decision i would like to know what some of the flaws were
i read on some other web sites that there is a slight irregularity on the slide right under the "p" after about 100 rounds
if so has this been corrected by fnh

Some of the FNP40's had flaws and if you call them they MIGHT give a range of serial numbers to look for, but I doubt it.
I think it was a molding flaw that a secondary contractor failed to meet that caused something to crack and the trigger wouldn't work. All I know for sure is FNHUSA stood behind them 100% and mine has worked like a swiss clock afterwards. It's one fine piece or tu-tone craftsmanship.

My fnp.40 was about 2 months old with bout 600 rounds through it and the trigger housing cracked and i do have a ding under the P also seems the barrel is not the same thickness on the bottom side not very accurate still waiting for the box to send in for repairs depending on how she looks and works on the return i will decide on FNH everyone gets a lemon now and then wont knock them just yet :patriot:

I have a FNP-40 bought a little over 3 weeks ago.
400 rounds through it and I love it.
I do have a little nick on the left side bottom of the slide right under the P.
It looks like it could be from the slide catch.
If I cover the target with the front sight the POA matches the POI pretty good.
I have the both XD9 and XD40 and Sig229 to compare to.
I am pleased enough with the FNP-40 that I got a FiveSeveN yesterday.

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN fix stupid - it's just illegal.
