FN Hi Power Project

Ok guys new project.

I already started working on this so this picture does not even come close to showing the amount of external damage of the HP. It was a Milsurp HP and cost 300+S&H. This HP was lugged around for 20 + years getting the ever living shit beat out of it. Some of the gouges in the frame where over half a MM deep.

Now while the outside looked like it was dragged behind a truck on a gravel road for a decade as typical of banana republics this HP has been fired maybe 50x?

So the inside is mint.

So here we go.

Magazine disconnect already removed. I will be adding C&S extended safety, bobbing the hammer. Front sight dovetail will be cut and night sights added.

Frame will be cerkoted dark earth. All controls and slide will be ceraote Microslick black.

So for about 150 in parts and 200 in labor I will have a HP worth well over 1K and have a killer HP I ave wanted for many years.

I will include updates as I go along.

Well I used a dremel and a rubber diamond embedded wheel for the big dents.

Then I put the frame in the system I use to polish the 28gr bullets before I molly coat them.

Here is the frame, dripping in oil of course.

The system I use leaves all the sharp edges. So while it removed the many small dents, old layers of bluing and scratches all the corners are nice and crisp.

The damage just did not show in the pics.

This grip panel gives a better idea of what the whole gun looked like.

Numrich was selling them. If I had more cash I would have bought 3 or 4 fixed them up and sold all but one.

my 1st gun ever was a HP. Made in Belgium, assembled in Portugal. Sold it to a buddy, so I COULD get it back...
What slide markings does it have?

Not the ones I wanted, but it was cheap.

Here is the slide after being cleaned up today. I am going to let it run more though. Still some dents that can be seen.

Hi Power Update.

Well the front blade has been machined off, a dovetail cut. Night sights both front and rear have been created and fitted. Now it's off to be coated.

This one was a batch from Numrich.

I would have liked to buy all of them they had and done this all, then kept one and sold the rest.

Yep, I have needed one for a long time, cash is tight with the brass project. So when this bag of parts called a gun by Numrich came up for cheap I jumped on it. I knew I could all the work myself the way I wanted and for a lot less money then one already done.

I have custom night sights already but before I put them on I have some final fitting since inside and out every area and part has been coated.

While I like these black grips, aren't the annihilated ones that came with it, they are a worn so I might go with a black hardwood or possibly dark G-10 type.

That is truly ░▒▓█▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄█▓▒░ OUTSTANDING! ░▒▓█▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄█▓▒░

Here you go. Installed the custom night sights, front dovetail had to be cut etc. and test fired today without any issues.

More research revealed that this was a mid 1970's gun and not an earlier one. This means the slide and other parts etc. are rated for more powerful sub gun 9mm ammo out there unlike the 1972 and older versions.

The only thing left is the EFK threaded barrel and that is shipping with our next batch of barrels on their way here now.
