New FNP-45 Owner - sight suggestions

Post by mikeglass1969 » 02 Apr 2012, 14:03

Just purchased an FNP-45 model within the last month. Finally got to take it to the range this past weekend. Shoots wonderful!!! Doesn't beat you up, no jostling in your hands so that you can quickly aquire your target again and consistant shot placement. LOVED IT!!!

Howerver,

I am ok with iron sights, mostly for home protection, but i consistantly shoot 3-4 inches low at only 10 yards. I only got to shoot 50 rounds of Remington 230 grain round nose through it and may try other loads but I doubt they will make much of a difference at such close range. Does FN sell different iron sights heights to bring this hangun into "alignment"? Or will I have to take it to a gunsmith and have a sight milled?

Sighting is only out in elevation.

Thanks

Hmm, typically a low POI is due to jerking the trigger or bad wrist mechanics.

Try going out again and using a wrest, if possible. A rolled up towel on the shooting bench is really all you need.

Not trying to discount your marksmanship, but every platform is different and takes some getting used to. Hell, it took me a solid month to get accurate with my FsN.
