When will FNS-9 be available in the US?

Post by ChaosSeen » 15 Sep 2011, 12:43

Does anybody know when the FNS-9 made by FN Herstal will be available for sale to the public in the U.S. ? Looks like it will be attractive to the LE community with the safety mechanisms. I think it will have a 17-round mag capacity. Some of the features can be found at

Thanks for everyone's help.

Belgium-based FN Herstal has recently announced the launch of its newly designed 9mm FNS™-9 pistol on the market.

The FNS™-9 pistol has been developed around a pre-loaded striker mechanism, which provides a short and light trigger pull identical to all shots for fast and accurate shooting. Additionally, the polymer frame is designed with a low bore axis for reduced felt recoil and enhanced control.

Each FNS™-9 pistol features an optional manual safety, trigger safety, firing pin safety and a drop safety, ensuring maximized security.

Additionally, the pistol comes standard with a number of ergonomic features: ultra no-slip checkered grips for an improved grip, front serrations for press check and two interchangeable backstrap inserts for a customized fit. All operating controls are fully ambidextrous.

Here is a video about it from FNH that explains a bit.

I read it will be available in early 2012 and only as a LE gun, but that may have changed

It just started appearing a few months ago to companies.

I didn't know it would be available to civi's till a few days ago, I thought it was all LE only.

Going to see if I can get my hands on one to give you guys some feedback.

Issue is that I have other reps that help me out to test out guns, like STI etc. but I know 0 FN reps around here.

AHHHHHHHH

Had my FNS-9 for about 3 weeks now.

Here are some photos.

IMO a very nice 9mm, and very accurate.

comes with 3 17rd mags. The initial gun has a selector safety but I was told that mid Feb there will be a non-safety release as well.

Nice I really like the look haven't had a chance to get my hands on one yet but I know my local guy got them in at a pretty reasonable price I think, but I think I'm just going to be picking up the regular 9mm next... Can't beat $399 new

I was thinking I wanted the FNX of but the idea of a 9 striker fire is starting to grow on me.

saw there might be a 45acp model. wonder if it will be any smaller than the FNP45.
