FNP 45 Car Mounted Hoslter (I was clearly bored)

Post by DJFIT3 » 10 Sep 2011, 21:23

I saw a website called texascustomholsters.com that make mounted holsters for the inside of your vehicle, but after I received an email back from their customer service saying they didn't currently have a holster for the FNP 45, I thought I'd make my own. It is a Kydex holster that I wasnt going to use for this FNP, because I use my BladeTech one all the time when carrying it around. I figured this would be perfect for my car. I used some play-dough like plastic epoxy that I found at home depot for $5. The tensil strength is absolutely amazing and its not coming off anytime soon. I was going to drill and use some self tapping screws, but I got lazy and just wanted to stick it on there. As soon as the epoxy dry's over night here, I'll be fine painting the white epoxy gaps black or dark grey to blend in with my middle console. I just thought I would post this in case anybody was looking to possibly do the same thing. It doesn't get in the way when I slide the seat all the way up either.

I devoloped one just like that for my fiveseven. I was going to sell them then i realized a lot of people would not like the idea of drilling into their cars so i scrapped the idea. Nice job on yours! It looks great.

That is a great setup! If we weren't required to have our guns out of sight when in the car here in FL, I would break out the drill in a heart beat!

In Texas that would have to be mounted concealed.

Was gonna say you better check the legalities of that. Having it "readlily" accessible like that and in plain view could be an issue in many states

It is an issue in non open carry states.

In Idaho, that would be considered open carry which is perfectly legal. :thumb:
My problem is that nothing on the left side of center would be comfortable for me to have it on a regular basis. On the passenger side, well I don't trust my passengers that much

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN fix stupid - it's just illegal.
