New SCAR-H Variants for MIL

Post by blueorison » 01 Jul 2010, 20:29

Scar H: new variants are emerging.

The PR and the SSR, meant to replace rifles for the DMR's and Sniper roles (M110).

Edit: I know Rapier. But I know someone has read up on this, also, and they will post it. I'll let them do it :)

Here is the PR. Not quite as excited about this to the Sniper Support Rifle.

I'm still liking the look of the ACR over a standard SCAR. But that SSR certainly has my attention

the SSR in .308 would be a nice complement to my Sig 556DMR
OD PS90 USG, FDE FiveSeven, Ruger/VQ 10-22, Sig 522 Classic, Mossberg 500 Persuader and Saiga 308v21

Heard a couple places saying the PR is the civilian version of the SSR. Why can't we get the really nice looking stock? And the extended top rail looks kind of goofy. I've been looking for an accurate semi-auto rifle to take out some not wanted critters. Here's hoping it's not as expensive as the Knights SR-25 :D

I do like the DMR trigger break and reset.

Have to concur, might actually have to consider getting the SSR if it becomes available; I'm gunning for the RFB, though.

Sorry, I think the SSR is butt ugly. It is Rosie O'Donnel in fact.

I am thoroughly unimpressed with the SCARs. I have shot the L and H. Not worth the price. I can build an AR Piston for 30 percent less that will out shoot it anyday.

I am bummed because I was high on the gun when I got a look at it way back in 07 at a demo at Bragg. Then I shot it just last month, my buddy has both in MT. I really thought it performed ok, but not out of this world.

Probably in minority, but I just don't see getting one fo the PR variants, and I woudl most certainly buy a KA SR-25 before I even touched the SSR. Word is they will run around $3900!!! That is insane.

Maybe there is a reason why the USMC shunned the SCAR? Just saying.

To each his/her own Irish - I like the SSR :p Rosie O ugly is the KRISS-V
Got to handle one of those KRISS things yesterday at a local gun shop. Ugly & uncomfortable

But you're right on for the price - $3900 (if the word is right) is ludicrous! Unless it comes with a $1400 optic :D

I agree on the KRISS-V. It is Barbara Streisand to the SSR's Rosie.
