Will b.a.d. lever work on a SCAR

Post by DAUG » 13 Jun 2010, 18:53

I would like to know if anyone here has tried putting a Magpul BAD lever on a SCAR? I know it was specifically built for an AR15/10 system, but just curious whether it will fit or not? Thanks in advance.

I searched Magpul's sight, they didn't have any MAD products. There is a BAD lever - Battery Assist Device

Definitly doesn't work...and you really can't modify it to work either. I think Magpul will release one for the SCAR in the future, but they are going to wait a bit...they are having a hard time keeping up production on their current offerings.

Those that never heard of the BAD lever should look it up. Great little tool for your AR. I'll put my little plug in here and say we have them and they would be $30 shipped to anyone who wants one.

I'll stick with my original knock-offs when it comes to the BAD lever, its the one product where Magpul got me a bit angry due to their hypocrisy. Yes their design got knocked off but only because they took so damn long to make it, and put it out their for viewing for so long, they then proceeded to say that a metal BAD lever wouldn't work etc due to being too heavy blah blah blah claiming jams and failure to lock the bolt open, then proceeded to make one out of metal themselves which by many accounts isn't fully functional in many weapons. Plus the knock-off is a one piece design which feels a lot tougher.

Hmmm, did not know the history behind the bolt release/catch development. So Romer, does the EBRv1&2 made by phase5tactical work with the SCAR then or is it only again designed for the AR platform??? :ponder:

Still only designed for AR15, but they may be more inclined to prototype one for the SCAR.

Hmmm, I'll go and ask them if they do one for the SCAR and report back then!
