FS2000 Scope

Post by 57js » 11 May 2012, 17:51

I picked up my FS2000, and I am interested in putting a scope on the rifle. Is a red dot or a regular scope recommend for this rifle?

Thank you.

Whatever floats your boat and your wallet can afford. It all depends on what you'll be shooting, under what circumstances, and at what range.

Think any AR or rifle chambered in 5.56 that is MOA accurate. Apply the same logic to the FS.

If you're using as an SD/truck gun, put a red dot on it.

If you're using it for hunting and shooting targets past 300 yards, put a 1-4, 1-6, etc. on it.

Hope that helps :)
Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by stupidity.

I put a Leupold 1-3x14mm CTQ on mine. I don't like the big dot in the center (they claim it can be used for range estimating) but otherwise it's a good scope.

Good advice. I have a red dot on my AR57, and a Leopold 3-9x scope on my AR 5.56. I don't hunt though I might use it for long range shooting as well as self defense. Don't know about 300 yards though. Then again, the desert is pretty big where I am.

I think I will end up with a scope.

Thanks.

I am looking at a few Leupolds. The first is the Mark AR 3-9x as well as the Mark AR 4-12x, and Mark AR 6-18x. I don't think I really need the VX-R (a 3-9x scope that also has an illuminated dot in the center), and the other scopes are way out of my price range. I won't be hunting with the FS2000 but I would like to shoot longer distances. 300 yards would be a long, but anything is possible. If I go with one of the bigger scopes, how would that affect shooting at shorter distances? Which scope would you recommend?

Thank you.
