I bought my SCAR 16 a few weeks back and now it's time to start buying accessories. I have been asking around about optics but would also like to get a wider audience's view.
My main use of the gun will to have fun at the range. Any suggestion? Any thoughts on bipods?

I'd say go with the Grip-pod instead of bi-pod. But for a range gun, the only other thing would be the optics if you want them
I agree with Rapier on the grip pod as the best option for all in one. Other than that the next route I would take would be Magpul's angled grip, and add a rail to bipod adapter in front of that (they don't take up much space), but then you're fooling around taking the bipod on and off.
As far as optics the skies the limit (which you probably already know). This is just my .02, I would personally mount an EoTech or an Aimpoint with a magnifier behind it. The gun isn't designed for 1000 yard shooting, so no need IMO for a 10x and up scope. Plus the added benefit would be you would be looking around a 1000 for either of those set ups (give or take a little). To do an ACOG and RMR setup you're looking at about 1500 (maybe more). Personally those would be the two routes I would go, it's a nice gun, and it deserves nice optics (if you get optics for it). Otherwise, if it's just for fun, and you don't feel like spending the money on it, then iron sites work just as well if you're pulling the trigger as fast as you can at the range. Very nice purchase by the way.

Magpul AFG and Millet DMS-1 on mine.
I don't ever bother with a bipod since I'm usually shooting while standing or have bags to rest on.
I'll leave the bipods for longer distance guns.

I use the MAKO TPOD g2 for a great grip bi-pod on both the 16/17 and an aimpoint Comp4 on my 16 with an ACOG on my 17. I love this combo as well as the bipod.

I put an AFG1, Tango Down BG17 grip and an EOTech XPS2-0 on my Black 16. So awesome!

I'd say figure out what you want to use the gun for first, then design the accessories around it.
Range gun: Harris Bipod and 3x9 or better magnification scope of your choice, you'll be the most accurate on paper from a bench with this.
SHTF gun: Grip pod, or vertical/horizontal foregrip; Variable 1-4x magnification, ACOG, Elcan, or Eotech/Aimpoint with respective 3x or 4x flip-to-side magnifiers, not as accurate as a traditional high power scope but more versitile and can maintain engagement from short to medium range. Don't forget BUIS for SHTF.
Home Defense / Home area defense: Standard foregrip with a light such as Surefire M900A and/or laser combo; Eotech, Aimpoint, or Any Reflex Sight you prefer.. the idea here is FLAT GLASS, no eye relief, full two-eyes open close quarters capability.
Safe Queen: Who cares, you aren't going to shoot it anyways, get a nightforce like the rest of the mall ninjas.
My only cabeat is that there is no one package that does everything, just some packages that do most things, and some packages that do certain things. Find out what you want to use the gun for and start experimenting and reporting back your results, thus is the beauty of this forum.

You can just do what this kid did and buy every single aftermarket part that they make for the scar without knowing anything about it...
...Just dont wear a tight shirt than film yourself talking about the parts, Sea.

I feel the EOTech 553 I have would work as well on my SCAR as it did here on my AMD-65.
