The prices have gone crazy as of late. REALLY want to try my hand at reloading, but will wait for the EA go-no-go case checker to be available.

I have one round of SS196 that I found in the bottom of my closet.
I'll let it go for a cool $5K but only if you act now... :skep:

And no...shipping is NOT included!

I still have one of the Italian version releases of ss197. The boxing is completely different.

I wonder how much it will go for.

It'll die down pretty quickly once the panickers realize that ammo isn't gone forever.

The rounds will be in stock in the next couple months. If you want to sell, sell it now.

I'm going to use the ammunition I have been blessed with to go train harder. If guns get banned, I want to be in the top percentile of people who know how to use them, because I won't get to train for a while. That's just my .02

If you were a less than honest person, you would get creative with a computer, 'create' a special label and call it something that it ain't...I dunno. SS202 the ULTRA Rare, only released ONE case before it was banned by ATF, made in Italy round...
Sell it for a $1,000 and then have TONS of money to buy LOTS AND LOTS of ammo when the ammo is available again...

However ignorant mall ninjas are, they aren't so stupid to buy a round that they have never heard of;

Tell that board I'll cut them a deal. Only $45 a box! They lay shipping.

Even if you had no intention of selling, at what price point do you go ahead and "cash out"? I see the T6, SS198 , and other rounds going through the roof and my ethics are waning.

I, like many other FsN and other 5.7 weapon owners, I'm sure don't have a price point where we would sell our guns or ammo. I bought my FsN and AR57 to shoot them not as investment vehicles. I treasure my EA T6s, S5s, S4s, S4Ms... Heck all of my EA ammo as some of the best SD/HD ammo out there. My FN 190s and 198s are pretty good stuff too. And the rest of my FN and AE ammo is valuable to me as training aids. Granted I could make a nice little profit by selling it all, but if I did that where would it leave me? With a little cash and no 5.7 guns or ammo. Right where I was before I caught the 5.7 fever. I'm not a gun dealer. So selling is just not an option for me.

Now I'm not knocking anyone for cashing in. It's a great time to make money. Everyone has different reasons for selling or not. Some need the cash. Some just need to get rid of their guns and ammo and now is a great time. Some bought in to the 5.7 craze and now are having buyers remorse. Everybody is unique, and to those who are leaving the 5.7 world, I say sorry to see you go and good luck to you. To those of us that are staying, I say here's to many more years of happy 5.7 shooting!

I find it funny that SS196 crashed on the market because it was a totally anemic round and shooters just wouldn't buy the stuff. FN realized this and pulled it to be replaced with slightly hotter SS197SR. I found a box of old 196 in the closet. I wouldn't shoot it because i don't want to have to adjust POA that much for one lousy box. Now I can put it up on GB as "rare" or "discontinued". What a strange market.

I couldn't resist. I have a pretty serious stash, so I put 10 boxes up on GB. Up to $530 so far. Please don't let it be one of you all.

I have listing on Armslist wanting to trade 50 rounds of FN ss195lf for 100 rounds of .223/5.56 ammo. Does anyone think thats an unfair trade?

Maybe I wasn't clear, but I wouldn't sell every round I own of the 5.7 platform. But say a guy had 5 boxes of pre-T6; would it be that crazy to sell one of them for enough money to pay back what the original cost of purchase was? And not just specialty rounds either. If you bought cases of ss197 at <$0.20/rnd; would it be "unethical" to turn around and cash some of it out now?

I'm not talking about a forum member cutting me a deal and then turning around and hocking it on GB. While others are OK with such an endeavor, I simply would not do it.

IMHO, EA restricted sales of certain ammo for a reason & I would respect that. If you could sell to someone they would have then that is fine.

Everything else is fair game for all comers & at whatever price they're willing to pay.

Now that is an interesting take that I had not thought of. But now that you mention it, I agree. That said, I don't believe the T6 was restricted.

We were at a gun show on Sunday. SS 197 was going $60. A box. SS 192 was selling for $80 At one vendor & a other was trying to get a $100.00 a box. Vender #1 sold few boxes. When I left, he had about 20 boxes left.

$53 a box. That's what my 197 went for on GB. 10 boxes. The buyer called me, very excited about his purchase. I was feeling a little guilty, but he was so excited about finding some that I don't feel so bad.

5.7x28 is 100 dollars a box at my LGS. It's insane.
