5.7x28mm Reloading

Post by RAIDENelder » 26 Jul 2010, 04:58

Im new to the world of the FN Five-seveN, (Just got mine last week) and I also reload all my own ammo. I worked some loads using Unique and they were not powerful enough to work the action of my new pistol so i thought i would ask around for better information.

Then i found this site, Full of good information, I actually kind of find it overwhelming....

To my question: I use mainly IMR powders (i.e. 4064, 4895, 4350 ... etc) In all my other reloads and Unique for most of my pistols. Does anyone have an idea what charge load i could use with these powders? If not, What would, In your opinion, be the overall best powder to reload for my Five-seveN?

Thanks!

I can't comment on the IMR powder, but one of the best powders for the 5.7x28 is True Blue.

The IMR powders are more than likely too slow... Unique is too fast.... Best powders I know of are HS7, True Blue, Blue Dot, Acc#7, VVN105, VV3N38, Longshot, and Alliant ProReach looks good so far, but Im still testing...

OK, thanks for the information. I have been looking around since i posted and i think True Blue seems to be my best bet for starters.

Again thanks for your help!
