PS90 Reloading

Post by Defender » 15 Jan 2015, 08:27

**** I have WADED through a BUNCH of pages in this forum and not finding much.****

Ok. I am NOT new to reloading just a newbie to this caliber, Weapon & Forum. As of now I am only loading for the PS90. I am hoping to pick up a pistol once the funds build back. As for now it is a standard barrel it WILL be SBR'ed in the future. Paperwork is filled out just waiting on the Trust. It WILL be suppressed once SBR is complete.

Dies are Lyman

Powders available are:
AA#5, #7, Alliant Steel and BlueDot.

Bullets:
40 & 53 Grain Vmax
40 grain BlitzKing

Primers:
Winchester & CCi SRP & SPP

Any help would be appreciated.

Use the search feature on "blue dot". LOTS of good loads with blue dot and 40 grain. In fact, seems to be the best marriage of that particular powder.

I doubt it was that you couldn't find much, I think it was more of finding too much to sort thru

As shopsmart said, search for "blue dot" & be sure use the quote marks.
There isn't much posted about the Blitzking bullets so I figured that wold be easy to search for & seem to have found exactly what you are looking for :D

I am trying the 5 grains with the 40 grain bullets - will load up 20 or so. I have a case gauge from Elite - found that to be very useful in the reloading process. Just looking to make some range rounds - nothing too hot...not looking for the edge of the envelope. I went with the Lee dies.
Thanks for your work.

5.0 Grs of Steel with a 40 Vmax is a really consistent load... low SD - should be accurate! And as mentioned earlier, very safe to work with!
Taken from my PS90 Data:
40 Gr Vmax
Steel
5.0 Grs
FPS - 2018

Sample Size 5
Stand. Dev. 12
Ft Lbs Energy 362
Notes: Standard Function - Great Powder and load for begginers - I recommend 5.0 grs for consistency…

Use the search function and use this wording- ifire's ps90 load data

I have had good experiences with 6.2 to 6.4 grains of blue dot, also 5.4 grains of Longshot for the 40 grain v-max
when I reload the 27 grain bullet the best loading was Longshot with 6.4 grains AWESOME LOAD.

EA has one & it works great. I've thought several times about buying a spare but gotta wait until finances are bit more stable.

Here's a link to the thread bruteandbear1 was talking about:

iFire has made several threads with reloading data in them. They are a pretty useful place to start.

Another trick is to use google referencing the forum. It sometimes will find things the search feature doesn't seem to pick up. Been awhile since I used that technique though.
