Should I sell my ammo?

Post by Mizry13 » 22 Feb 2013, 10:16

I have about 1000 rounds of NIB 5.7 that I bought for $19 per box. I will be going out of country for a year and am considering selling my ammo. I have received numerous offers of $60+ per box, so I can make a bit of profit.

My thoughts are that when I return in a year, prices will be back to normal and I can repurchase what I sold.

What do y'all guys think?

ammo prices are elastic. so, when demand falls so will the price. sell.

Define your variables.

Weigh your options.

Make your decision.

There is no guarantee that in one year prices will "come down". Hedge your bet now against future legislation that restricts/controls the sale of ammunition.

So while you could possibly make a large profit now, you may be ammoless in one year upon your return if you arrive to find quantity limits with no online sales, etc. Or you may return to same prices as they are today. Or you may return to even higher prices.

I'm as shocked as you are.

Guys, should I look both ways before I cross the road?
Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by stupidity.
The shooter will always matter more than the gear ever will.
Stop relying on others to do the work for you.

If you can sell it for 60$ a box and are leaving and cant shoot them anyways sure why not. but I dont see anyone paying 60$ a box. theres ammo around at 40$ per box pretty common.
your not gonna get rich and retire or the ammo i would just keep it and shoot it when you get back. guys that sell ammo that are not in the ammo selling buisness kill me. make a few bucks sure but you still have your day job. enjoy life shoot the heck outta that ammo and smile.

Yes, there is a selling section but as rule 5 states, you need to have at east 50 posts or a paid membership to sell on this forum.
See original post here for membership: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=215" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thank you for taking the time to check the rules & not trying to skirt them as other new members frequently attempt.
Got told the rules & still tried to post WTS ad anyway. Oh you're gonna be a fun one.
