9mm Host's
9mm Host's
What does everyone use as a pistol host for their suppressors? I'm in the market for a new host.
From my research it seems a lot of people like the Sig 226 or the M&P.

Re: 9mm Host's
The M&P has a crap load of problems. I don't have a host as much as a dozen or so weapons I can screw it on.
I would go with a CZ SP01. It has a rail and can be ordered with a threaded factory barrel ready to go. Plus it will fit your hands better then the other two.

I would not recommend either. I would also recommend the CZ SP01.
Think about it. Think about the action. No barrel tilt.
CZ > SIG & M&P

What does barrel tilt have to do with it?

Re: 9mm Host's
Uhhh long explanation.
It has to do with non-static shooting, mostly.

Re: 9mm Host's
I thought you meant it as something to do with it as a suppressor host.
I have used my suppressors on a glock, m&p, and a sig 226. The sig and m&p are better than the glock imo. All 3 are available with factory threaded barrels as well.

Whatever works for you
I don't really like expressing my opinion on certain guns in public, because.. well.. obvious reasons.
If it works for you, then awesome! :thumb:

Re: 9mm Host's
I'll check out the CZ. I have a hand full of 9mm pistols now, but they all have very loud action noises.

I agree, it's just that some are louder than others. :psrt-4_jon wrote:Every handgun has loud action noise.

Have a SIG 226 and 228 as host for my Trident. According to some of the people on silencertalk who test all the time, the SIGs meter a little less than other common host like the Glocks and HKs.
Re: 9mm Host's
You would be surprised how loud a hammer strike can me. A 10/22 with the bolt locked shut meters no quieter than with the bolt moving.blueorison wrote:Not TC's.srt-4_jon wrote:Every handgun has loud action noise.

Oh, when people say "action", the thought of the "action" moving and unlocking is how I perceive it.
I think it is self-explanatory that most guns require a hammer/striker strike.

You still have to open the action on the TC and that makes noise also. :ponder:

Re: 9mm Host's
Sig hands down would be my recommendation. NSW in the 90s went through a ton of suppressed 9mm pistols testing their quietness and the gun that came out of all that is the MK24 (now a Mk25 I think they changed designation) with the factory Sig threaded bbl that they use standard. Take that FWIW.
And CZ works fine from my experience too, and is a great value for money. Just order a factory threaded bbl. My buddy had problems with a aftermarket threaded bbl on his SP-01. Forget which brand.
And barrel tilt problems, well with respect, I have found to be mostly hubris.

Re: 9mm Host's
Aftermarket barrels are hardly ever needed, unless for threading, etc.
I've never heard of anyone having problems from barrel tilt.

Oh ok. From your response earlier in thread I thought you had. And not sure what you mean by 'needed'. Of course it would be for threading, we are talking about suppressors. I must be misinterpreting something here. :skep:
