9MM VS FIVE SEVEN
Hey everyone, did anyone happen to watch this? Was kind of enteresting. :ponder:
Re: 9MM VS FIVE SEVEN
That guy has several comparison videos on youtube. They are pretty cool. I just wish he compared the loads using a fiveseven to the ruger p89 he used so it was a little bit more fair of a comparison. Handgun vs handgun rather than carbine vs handgun.
Re: 9MM VS FIVE SEVEN
jmz - Good info for the next series of tests.
Re: 9MM VS FIVE SEVEN
the 2x6's that he shot with the PS90 were angled. This would have made them more difficult to penetrate. Kind of like sloped armor.
I agree that he should have used the FsN. However, it was interesting to see the SS197 penetrate that wood.

Re: 9MM VS FIVE SEVEN
I wasn't sure if they were angled or the ends were cut straight.

Either way, it was cool. I'm gonna have to check out more of his videos.
Thanks for putting it up. Now to sniff out more! :thumb:

Re: 9MM VS FIVE SEVEN
The PS90 board did look as if it had fallen over to an angle.

Re: 9MM VS FIVE SEVEN
The board may have fallen over, but it's still a kind of neat demo.

Re: 9MM VS FIVE SEVEN
Not bad, but I agree with amc31b, it would been better to see a pistol vs. pistol comparison.
Re: 9MM VS FIVE SEVEN
Though it could have been done in a more controlled environment/process it proves that the 5.7 is capable.
9mm ball is a good penetrator, but I not as good as that ss197.

Re: 9MM VS FIVE SEVEN
You sure about that? I've had 9mm ball go thru a small tree before but the 197's didnt. Of course I didnt analyze the tree to check for grain, knots or anything else :p Just saw where the 9 was going thrustg2ahn wrote:9mm ball is a good penetrator, but I not as good as that ss197.

Contrary to popular belief, you CAN fix stupid - it's just illegal.

Maybe I spoke too soon
the ss190 and s4 superraptor are good penetrators.

Excuse me for plinkin' :p I wasn't trying for anything more than hitting a target. But, maybe I'll try something next time I'm out the range. Now you got me curiouscfsfl2000 wrote:I agree with stg2ahn... It should have been done in a more controlled environment

So many variables, like the angle of the boards and what not.
Who cares when you got 50 rds in a ps90..
