Yeah, the prices every other place has gone up since I bought mine. I only paid $700 - botach still has them listed at that price but its hit or miss with them. I was lucky I guess.

I bought a surefire for the last shooting course I did (night excersises). The guy at the store claimed it could withstand being ran over by a tank, (he also said he was a reservist). I don't drive a tank but my truck is over 7,000lbs & I have ran a few things over - flashlights included so I got on...

Actually I wouldn't mind being around him EARS, as long as they let me carry. I grew up using a 30-06 for most game. But when I moved to this state (IA) I found out hunting with a firearm is illegal, except shotgun/muzzleloader; so I started with a bow. If & when I visit family during hunting season though, (ID) I take the rifles with me.
