Good to hear it, I saw a fellow shooter blowup a Ruger security six beside meon the range,scared the crap out of me and hurt his hand badly (he had messed up on setting his scale and the three loads we recovered and pulled down had over 2x charge of Unuiqe)

I just wanted to let people know about some outstanding custumer service I just recieved from Hornady...I had purchased a Hornaduy micromiter adjust case trimmer,(mostly because it said it used standard shell holders) well the standard 5.7x28 shell holder doesn't fit it the center hole is about .004...

dont know about Pdogshere in Oregon but I have blasted some GREYDIGGER squirrels with the 35 gr Vmax out of AR57 worked great. :guns:

are the cracks around the circumfrance of the case at the top of shoulder? I find some of the cases crack there on the first reload . I attributed it to thin brass lot..Have others loaded x4 with no ill effect?

9th: Thanks for the info.....fortunatley the dent seem to iron out just fine in the size die ( probably lost 7out of the first 500) so its not really an issue ,just pisses me off to waste brass. I am also shooting an AR57 16" and I love the thing it shoots very well!

thanks Grantness , I was looking at the Dogtown mostly because of pricepoint.. I have beeen shooting my Ar57 with the Nosler 40gr BT , the Speer 40 gr VSP & the 35 and 40 grain Vmax. all have been giving very good accuracy. High gear your on the wright track....buy dies ( i like the Redding one I have purchased) then you get the fun and practice of shooting the ammo first. Then just load it yourself :thumb:

Great pics ,, Is the polymere brass cather easier on the case mouths? I made one from a colt 20 rnd mag and it somtimes dents the mouths pretty well.

36 gr dogtown or 45 gr banded solid?
have any of you loaders tried the 36 gr dogtown from midway usa, or the Barnes 45 gr banded solid in your Ar57, the dogtown looks pretty standard. The Barnes bullet however looks LOOONG. but has a great BC for a 22 bullet. I would like to load A#7 behind them Both? :guns:

I have a strikefire and like it. Well except the x2 attachment . but what a deal I got the sight,mount ,dust covers,battery,x2 attachment from Code 3 supply in salem oregon for $160. I have been very pleased. I also have had Bad luck NC star.

I'm using Redding dies and love them. . . .I have been using CCI SRP primers and not had any problems(they are about the only ones I can find) but have been working great for my AR57.

I am shooting a AR57 and have had no problems at all with brass that was tumbled clean and clear of coating. I'm sure it would be fine for yotes, I have killed them with .22mag and 17HMR that both have 16" barrels at 100yds +/- so the 40gr V-max at that vel shoult work fine. :thumb:

I think gw45acp has the correct thoughts here. sneeking up quitely and busting a cap could land you in prison. ( of course there are always diff. conditions and sittuations. ) But anouncing your armed and your intent. Could save you alot of longterm legal nightmares.

I have a stainless steal can for my 22lr, it is threaded 1/2x28 I have used it on my 22win mag. and 17HMR, my ? is can it handle the 5.7x28 from a 16" barrel or am I risking blowing it up......sorta an expiencive toy ta break needlessly?

Thanks Iwill try some,,, seems to be one of the few powders I can find in my area..The good thing is you can load so many rounds from 1 lb of powder. sure is more economical the my 300win. :clap:

well that may be correct for 5.7x28 , could be that lacquers have been changed or improved. but I have a fair amount of experience with M16 and Ak47 clones ..I work at a weapons mauncaturer in the late 70's and early 80's . we found that under auto fire when the barrel and chamber got HOT we started...

I fired around 150 rounds of handloads through my Ar57 today it was first reload of the cases I buaght from Topbrass, I loaded them with AA#7 weighed each charge love the way the stuff goes through RCBS auto charger! does True Blue also handle easily??

I think that you need a RCBS #45 shell holder to match your dies. at least thats what mybuddies dies box says!

I have Redding dies and shell holder from Midway USA, they seem to work great, Redding has a nice decapper head that helps not stretch brass.

well lacquer coating and UV inspection might be for some shooters, but not for me, I contacted RCBS tech advice and at their suggestion put my brass in the vibrating tumbler with walnut shell media. it has taken four days of run time but the laqcuer has been removed and the brass is bright , shiny, ...

Oh Brother I do Agree. . . . I just got in from Range with my AR57 I have it topped with a G&P 552 red/green sight and it shoots like a champ. we fired at 50 and 100 yards. and it shot great. I would highly recomend getting one. :agree:
