Re: A place for questions

You have it exactly right blue. Ash's kit screws onto the pill of a drop in so it can be focused. The beam is the most focused when the square projection of the LED is the most crisp and clear.

Re: A place for questions

Ooo I was confused. I thought you meant the rechargables didn't fit in the big light. I read it wrong. You meant they didnt fit in the streamlight. I understand now. The rechargables will fry the TLR1. You have to stick with primaries. Primaries for the TLR1 and 18650 for the big light. Which ultraf...

Re: A place for questions

I've had to use both primaries snd rechargables: on the fly, sometimes you just have to get some off the shelf. I found the Ultrafire ss host for $24, so cheap enough to be worth it. 25%, 100%, and strobe (in that order) 7000k white bordering on blue All modes regulated. I eagerly await your findin...

Re: A place for questions

Mr. Santor, thank you. Yes, I do need an aspheric lens. My Sparker has one, plus a focus function. I don't think the likes of Nailbender offer one with a module, though. No, Dave does not sell one with an aspheric. Ash is the only one that sells the kit for SF cloned P60 lights. I would prefer lo t...

Re: A place for questions

Are there different reflector choices other than just texture? Because focus isn't much of an option on most hosts (LOVE that feature on my Sparker F1665!), I'm looking for a pretty tight beam. You have 3 choices for reflectors. Orange Peel which gives you more flood (side spill), Smooth which give...

Freeze, what do you mean by drop in reference guide? Only thing I can think of is an amperage chart that shows lumen output? I have one on my computer I can post later. I don't know of any other kind of guides. Pain, can't wait for beam shots! Something that shows what modules have what features fo...

Re: Cutting edge bullets

Grantness, I am curious about the "tumble" part of your comment. Is this a desired factor? I experienced some tumbling with the S195LF, 27gr factory load and I thought my TC G2 barrel was bad. Using other loads and making sure they are .224 cal., everything was fine. Can it be that the S195LF, 27gr...

Re: nightstand flashlight

Ill take the x6 I posted LOOOONG before the HID. HID is $1300, takes time to warm up, takes time to cool down and can not be switched on and off repeatadly. Plus bulbs have a short life span. X6 is almost 1/3rd the price, almost twice as bright, can be switched on and off as much as you would like a...

For the most part, any company that uses panasonic cells and has a protection circuit (unless you get the IMR chemistry.)

AW
Redilast
Cali customs
Etc.

I would just stick with AW and call it a day. They have THE best reputation. their stuff is rock solid.

Re: nightstand flashlight

once you go rechargeable you dont go back. I was kicking and screaming while buying all my rechargeable stuff. I spent about $350 bucks on the best charger you can get for Li-Ions and then a bunch of different sized cells. I REALLY did not want to spend that much but once you have rechargeables, you...

Novatac make good stuff. The owners broke off and one of them started a company called HDS. HDS took the design and built on it with a better UI, better quality, etc, etc. HDS is now know for making one of thee most bomb proof lights in the world. You can't go wrong with either novatac or HDS. Altho...

Re: Official Flashlight Thread!

Got a package in the mail last week from a few things that were 10 months in the making. First was a modest mod. This started life as a Maratac Cu AAA. It had a crappy aluminum pill/heat sink so I had one made of Copper. Then it was upgraded to a Cree R5 XP-G and ripped a new 3 mode driver from an i...

Fiveseven with RMR is the way to go IMO. As of right now, EA's rail is the way to go. It is the sturdiest option available. I miss my RMRed fiveseven a lot...
