Re: Steel Plates Help

If you want some precut hardened AR500 (500 Brinell hardness) plate steel ones for pretty cheap, Wideners has some for reasonable price without the hassle of cutting and whatnot. 3/8in and 1/2in. The 1/2 ones can take up to a .50 (non-AP tip). http://wideners.com/itemview.cfm?dir=1020 Have fun :guns:

Re: A Reliable 27gr Reload

Just spoke with an agent at the BATF Technology Branch in West Virginia who clarified unambiguously that they do indeed consider anything larger than .220" (and meeting the other criteria) as armor piercing. Don't some of the bigger manufacturers make .224 bullets that meet the AP definition above?...

Re: A Reliable 27gr Reload

Since the last digit is omitted it must be assumed to be outside the range of tolerance, thus .224 would default to .22 since it has no other defining tolerance and as such it would be rounded to the nearest significant digit. Also, it states "larger than .22 caliber" not larger than .22, and given ...

Re: Cigars and Whiskey

I've become a fan of XR for good whiskey, but for an everyday whiskey I like Basil Haden. I do enjoy a good Scotch as well, though not ones with a heavy peat flavor. At the moment I'm working on a Macallan Cask. With regard to tobacco, I'm not much of a cigar guy. I don't mind them, but I just prefe...

Awesome.
Psst...I think something is missing from your action (unless you've decided to do away with the safety as well and redesign the trigger mechanism in favor of a double action :p)

Re: T-6 5.7 AMMO

Couple of curiosity questions for you: I can't tell from the picture, but it looks like the case head may still be stuck to the breach face? is that the case, and if so, could you take a closeup shot of it? It looks like you found a remnant of the offending case, does it appear to have blown out the...

Re: 1000+ posts Karma Giveway!!! Win some Ammo or Dummy Roun

Does it make me a bit of a nerd if I set up a spreadsheet to calculate the probable value based on the total weight and a visual approximation (from the photos) of the ratio of quarters/dimes/nickels/pennies? Either way, thanks Buffman! I like the idea, I'll have to do it when I get to 1k Posts....s...

Wow, that Girandoni is amazing. And made 70 years before the Henry repeating rifle no less. It would indeed be interesting to see a modern remake of this kind of air rifle.

Re: Nikko red dot

Is it just me, or does your optic look slightly canted to the left?
I'm asking cause mine appears to have a slight cant the same direction and I was curious if it was something in the mount that wasn't even, or if there is something in the adjustable sight base that isn't level.

Re: NEW LOAD From EA ProtecTOR II

Ok, I gotta admit, those do look really badass. If we ever wanted to change the SS197 pic in the main forum header, this would get my vote. It isn't as crazy looking as one of the PFP's, isn't as boring as one of the 28grHP offerings, and while it visually does bear some similarities to the 197, it ...

FA has 1 tactical purpose: suppressive fire. Besides, full auto isn't called a "practical switch", it's called a happy switch... and for good reason. It's fun! :D +1 That's the same reason to dual wield :) and I'm totally for it! You misunderstand. Full Auto obviously has a place and a role. It can...

....... Me From every run we take a sample. If the op changes, bullet lot, brass lot, powder lot or day a fresh sample is taken. 1/3 of the sample remains unfired and is placed in a box with the fired brass from the sample.
