Re: 40 gr. Hornady Vmax Data

I know this same load has been posted by others, but I thought I would post this as well just to increase and back up the data already here on the forum. 40gr Hornady V-Max Trim: 1.129 OAL: 1.589 Primer: Wolf SPP and SPMP (magnum primer averaged 20-80 fps faster) Powder: TrueBlue 4.8 - 1485 4.9 - 15...

Re: Primers for reloading FiveSeven....

I just went through a bunch of Wolf SPP and SPMP and they functioned perfectly, with the magnum ones averaging roughly 40fps faster over a variety of bullet weights and powders.

Re: Anyone here try shooting cast bullets with their FiveseveN?

Well, I finally loaded up some of the NAA CBB cast bullets I mentioned in an earlier post. I didn't put any gas-checks on them and I just lubed them up with some liquid Allox and let them set overnight (since there arn't any rings for regular lube). I wasn't really expecting these to work well, but ...

Re: 34gr Varmint Nightmare

Well, I finally loaded up a bunch of these and took them to the range. I loaded them up with HS-6 and Trueblue. The flat bases didn't give me any trouble loading. I think the lower end TrueBlue will make a really nice practice round since it is relatively light and inexpensive. Trim Length: 1.129 OA...

34gr Varmint Nightmare

I found these the other day and hadn't seen any other mention of them so I though I would pass the info along. 34gr Varmint Nightmare Extreme HP flat base. They run $35 for 500, so they are hard to beat on the price. http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item.asp?sku=0042234&fromsearch=yes" onclick=...

Re: Any interest in Shell Plates for Lee Pro 1000?

M.O.
What powder throwing device (if any) would you recommend as ideal (regardless if it is single-stage or progressive)? - other than weighing each charge.

Grant, yours is off by .2gr? is that a .2gr spread, or varying by .2 each way?

Re: Any interest in Shell Plates for Lee Pro 1000?

I would still weigh/measure the powder the same, it would just speed up the case loading as well as the primer and bullet seating. Just curious, are you referring to the Auto-Disk, the Perfect-Powder measure, or both? (as being inaccurate) I've had good luck (so far) and been fairly pleased loading ...

Any interest in Shell Plates for Lee Pro 1000?

I've been single staging so far with the 5.7, but I'm thinking about picking up a 5.7x28 shellplate for my LeePro 1000. Anybody else interested in one (or are you guys all Dillon diehards?).
It's $100 setup plus $20 per plate. Works out to about $40 for 5 plates, $30 for 10 plates ect.

Re: Barnes 45gr solids

Thanks for the info, I was kind of surprised that there wasn't more info on it here, but that explains it a bit.
I might have to load it up and try it out in a "rifle".

The cost for the TSX tipped doesn't actually sound too bad, though I'd probably pick a different firearm for deer.

Barnes 45gr solids

Does anyone have loading info or experience with the 45gr Barnes solid? I thought I read somewhere that it was the tip used on the Elite XterminaTOR...though I can't find proof of the Xterminator actually existing either. http://www.barnesbullets.com/sunshop/index.php?action=item&id=75&prevaction=ca...

VBR Projectiles for the 5.7

Has anybody happened across the VBR bullets? They have several different flavors that have great potential, especially for law enforcement. VBR-BAP Armor piercing VBR-TB Tire Buster VBR-B2F 2 part AP round VBR-C2F 2 part specifically non-AP (kevlar arrest in class II armor) http://www.fsdip.com/webs...

Re: Anyone here try shooting cast bullets with their FiveseveN?

I picked up some 30gr cast (or swaged, I don't know) bullets from cheaperthandirt (out of stock now) that I'm going to load up and try out. I think they were originally intended for cap-&-ball revolvers, but they were like $4/100 so if they have problems for one reason or another I'm not really out ...
