My charging process goes like this. I use a loading block.
Set the powder measure.
Drop at least 5 charges that weigh the same.
Inspect all charged cases in the loading block with a flashlight.
Weigh 3 or 4 random charges in the loading block.
That was one hell-of-a spontaneous disassembly you had.

Re: Bad day at the range.
I just checked an unprimed case and it looks like 14 gr. would not be a compressed load (1/2" from the mouth of the case). But I'm curious. Does any one use a powder checker die? If so what brand and how well does it work. I've been thinking about a RCBS Powder Checker die.

Re: Any Iowans on the Board, Shall issue bill is up
We are trying for Constitutional Carry this year. But the FUD factor is raising it's head now about Shall issue. Some cities and counties are trying to restrict carry in certain places. Even though the code says state law trumps local restrictions. It just never ends.

OK it's official. Anyone with a valid permit to carry in ANY state may now travel to or through Iowa without disarming.

S&W 310 Night Guard. I know it's kind of BIG but I'm going to try it. It weighs less than my Cbob. I also like the fact that you can shoot the cheaper and easier to find 40 S&W. http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/8666/dsc055420.jpg Uploaded with ImageShack.us http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/5481/...

From Wikipedia. "The Buffalo Theory" is an "Urban legend" that is often attributed to Cliff Clavin from Cheers. The "quote" does sound like something Cliff could have said but is not from the actual show. The Buffalo Theory goes like the following: "Well you see, Norm, it's like this... A herd of bu...

Welcome to the " I shot my chrono club." I grazed mine the first time out. The laser light is a good idea. They recommend using straws or dowels to support the diffusers so they will break instead of tearing up your chrony. I went with the dowels and they work well unless there is a lot of wind. And...
