Re: Laser sight

One final post from me on this thread.

I could not contain myself and went to the range again.

This is the final target I shot using the laser with my last fourteen round magazine at a 10 yard target.

Re: Laser sight

I took the comments of blueorison to heart regarding training and the use of a laser as a tool and not a replacement for my normal shooting eye mechanics. What I have determined is that for short defensive distances I should continue to either point shoot or use my front sight to target – completely...

Ammunition used in my FNS-40 and FNX-40

I have now tested the following brands, types and weights of ammunition in both my FNS-40 and FNX-40 pistols. None produced a failure to properly load fire or eject. Recoil for each was easily manageable. None left an inordinate amount of residue. BRAND ID GRAIN TYPE CCI Blazer 3591 180 FMJ Hornady ...

Re: Wheelguns

The first sidearm issued to me in the Navy was a S&W revolver. The second one issued to me was a Colt 1911. Thus, from the beginning of my time with handguns, I have learned to enjoy and appreciate ownership of these two fine types of firearms. I have wanted to KNOW how to properly handle and become...

Re: Choose bedside gun - Choose Carry gun

I thank you all for responding. My question was not intended to be hypothetical. I presently own a FNX-40. It has both a laser and flash mounted. I use this pistol for CCW. I have a 4” GP100 that I presently use for HD at my bedside along with a hand-held Surefire flashlight. Tomorrow, the FNS-40 th...

Choose bedside gun - Choose Carry gun

Of the two, FNS-40 Striker or FNX-40 Hammer (with a flashlight mounted on its rail),

Which would you choose as a bedside gun?

Which would you choose as a carry gun (with a laser mounted on its rail)?

Thank you for your response.

I found a holster to fit my needs. It is the Fobus GLT19.

Want suggestions for special holster

I want a OTB belt or paddle holster to hold my FNX-40. My pistol is equipped with a flash/laser attached to the underside of the frame. The flash/laser protrudes about 1” beyond the end of the barrel. http://i567.photobucket.com/albums/ss112/shepsan/Targets/laserpistol.jpg I have been unable to loca...

Re: Laser sight

After checking various laser/flashlight sights, I chose the modestly priced Fire-Field Interchangeable combo kit. The mounting installed easily onto the FNX-40 rail. I first screwed the flashlight into the housing and was pleased at the brightness and distance the beam of light projected. Next, I un...

A new .40 S&W ammunition to me

Many of you are probably aware of this ammunition and what I write you already know. However, this month I found a .40 caliber round that I like very much. It is Winchester Q4369 .40 S&W bonded jacket hollow point ammunition. It has run flawlessly through my FNX-40 pistol and does not leave more tha...

Laser sight

Greetings

I would like to hear your opinions about having a laser sight on a FNX-40.

Is is effective? Overkill? A waste of money?

If of value, can you recommend a brand and model?

Re: First shooting with my FNX-40

I have wanted to shoot my new FNX-40 since I bought it this past week. When I got up this morning I knew that I could not wait another day so, early this morning I took my FN FNX-40 to the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in N. Phoenix and shot it for the first time. Other than a bit of arthritic pain in...

FNX-40 trigger problem?

I have read that early FNX-40 pistols encountered trigger problems. Can anyone tell me the month and year that the company marketed this gun with the problems solved? I am interested because the FNX-40 that I purchased this week was made in April 2011. Should I expect to encounter the trigger proble...

Re: New Member Introduction

Greetings to all. This is my first post having joined the forum yesterday after purchasing my FNX-40. I hope to learn from members who own and have experience with this fine pistol. Although I have handled and shot firearms for many years, this is the first FN product I have owned. I am impressed wi...
