Re: ALL FN ammo being declared Mil/LEO? (Rumor)

Yeah, I was thinking it's only a rumor because the forum would've lit up like the 4th of July if something like that was happening, and I didn't see any topics on the subject. That, and EA could double or even triple their prices and STILL make out like bandits. Panzermk2, I'm filing a copyright on ...

ALL FN ammo being declared Mil/LEO? (Rumor)

Yeah, been a while since I've been around. Haven't really had funds to pursue ammo and with the scarcity of it, it's been a moot point. Recently however, been able to get my hands on quite a bit, so I've been stockpiling. (Those damn zombies aren't going to shoot themselves.) and old man heard somet...

Re: Welp, looking for a second pistol.

PIc or it didn't happen.......... :ponder: ............just sayin........................ :p About what, specifically? For the Glocks, it's just what I was told by Gun World and two smaller, local-only stores. (As Blue has said, it might be bad info, but the fact that three different places had the...

Re: Welp, looking for a second pistol.

Well, went shopping today and settled on an FNS-9. I liked the feel of it and the trigger pull was pretty smooth, smoother than the FSN. (And short, too.) Feels about as heavy as the FSN, even though it's smaller, but I can live with that. Probably would've gone with a Glock, but at THREE different ...

Re: Welp, looking for a second pistol.

Nothing there that I was looking for, most of the showings were older firearms. Saw some neat stuff (Like a Japanese camera used for targeting practice.) but nothing I was really looking for. (Picked up some accessories, so it wasn't a wasted trip.) Went to a somewhat close but decently stocked gun ...

Going to gun show tomorrow, will be seeing what's there, possibly shopping around, depends on how much is left. (Third day of a show, th...

Re: Welp, looking for a second pistol.

Oy... Leave a topic alone for a week or so... Yeah, should've been specific about another thing, namely ambidextrous controls. I use my left hand to shoot, so a lefty-friendly pistol would be preferred. (One of the reasons I was drawn to the FSN in the first place.) Not really concerned about CC, bu...

Welp, looking for a second pistol.

Due to unforseen circumstances, I'm starting to look for a second pistol. I'm not unhappy with my FsN, but I AM unhappy about across the board ammo shortages. (And I'm sure everyone knows about how hard it is to get 5.7x28mm ammo. Without that, I might as well buy one of those knives that attach to ...

Re: Zombietools.net blades... Anybody got one?

Dammit... KNEW I was forgetting something... As for carrying bladed weapons - one of the reasons people don't carry swords, spears, battle axes, etc. any more is that they are large and hard to conceal. Are the cops going be ok with you schlepping that around? Considering that Open Carry IS legal in...

Zombietools.net blades... Anybody got one?

Due to Ohio laws that my old man has run into, I've found out that it's a fairly bad idea to discharge a firearm over or while on a public road. (Even if it's for self-defense, which was the case.) So, I'm looking into a decent blade for defensive purposes. (Specifically vs. one idiot's uncontrolled...

Re: FN 57 shooting low.

Did you shoot it off a rest? More times than not, it's the shooter not the gun. No offense intended, but you did say you were new to guns. Take out as many variables as possible (ie the shooters technique) by putting it on a rest and shooting it. If it zero's up, it's how you are shooting the gun. ...

Re: FN 57 shooting low.

First, I would have someone else who is an experienced shooter try it out & see how they do. If they hit in same spot, it's probably the sights. Eh, Gramps DID seem like he was a lot more on-target, even hitting the bullseye on his first shot, so I guess that DOES point to me doing something wrong....

FN 57 shooting low.

Welp, FINALLY got around to signing up for Gold Membership. (It only took me a FEW months...) And while I didn't NEED to, I wanted to show my support. (Thanks for the advice thread on holsters, BTW.) So, brought the FN 57 up to grandmothers, and got 15-25 feet away from target. Lining up all three d...

Pistol Bayonets (Yes, I'm seriously asking.)

I'm sure most (If not all.) of you have seen/heard about pistol bayonets like these: http://www.laserlyte.com/collections/pistol-bayonets" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Since most of the members of the forum (Okay, pretty much ALL of you.) are more experienced about this sort of thin...

Re: Newb alert: New FSN and first firearm.

Geeze... Almost a month since last post? Oy... Cleaned the FsN and took it shooting at our place along with parents. They had gotten some new guns as well and wanted to try them out, and also annoy neighbors. We're outside of city limits, and shooting was down down into a dirt bank. Not only allowed...

Okay... Sorry for ignoring most of you for now, but I can actually contribute some info! First off, I have the new mag spring and release catch. And, I'll be editing this to post pics of it. (Yes, it's different. VERY different.) *EDIT*: Pic's up. Notice the hooks at the bottom of the spring and the...

Re: Newb alert: New FSN and first firearm.

What builds up is lacquer from the cases. If it gets thick enough it can cause extraction issues and over pressure. Also glue residue from the factory bullets can build up. Powder combustion does not burn it up. Huh... So THAT'S where the carb cleaner comes in. So, how'd I get that mixed up with "t...

Re: Newb alert: New FSN and first firearm.

Mister Freeze: I -thought- I had read somewhere that the teflon can build up inside the barrel or ejecting mechanism and plug it, but I can't seem to find where I got that info from, or that most lubes with teflon include solvents that can erode the polymers... Again, I DON'T know where I heard that...

Re: Newb alert: New FSN and first firearm.

Okay, got around to calling FN USA today, (BTW, thanks Ferret.) and they recommend the CLP from BreakFree, not JUST the CLP-NC. So, with OFFICIAL recommendation, I can get the go-ahead from the main hinderances. :wall: blueorison: But I'm not done bleeding the free section of info yet! :p Seriously ...
