If it's an actual documented PROTOTYPE, it should be a couple of thousand dollars.
A friend of mine purchased the second .44 Automag Prototype a couple of years ago and paid $8,000.00. But keep in mind a "run of the mill" Automag is around $4,000.00.

I'm looking to go SLIGHTLY hotter than a factory SS197 load.
I'm going to be using Hornady 40 gr Z-Max bullets
True Blue powder
But I have Winchester Small Rifle primers "in stock", but I've seen loading data recommending both pistol & rifle primers.
BTW, I'm thinking 5.2 grains of True Blue.

In theory it shouldn't be a very long reach to achieve this. I seem to recall a posting about a FiveseveN that COULDN'T be brought on target it was so far off and FN wound up replacing the pistol.
And as you have discovered, the P.O.I. is EXTREMELY different between SS197 & SS198.
SS198 is quite a bit faster and the projectile is over 25% lighter.

Re: Concealed carry - smaller gun
I have 0 firsthand experience with the R. pistol. I have read from many users you have to replace the spring every hundred or couple hundred rounds. That is a little ridiculous. Even if it were 500 rounds. Just my .02 If it were every 1000, I wouldn't care. If I am recalling incorrectly, please cor...

Brownells has FNH PS90 mags for $22 if you have a mil/leo account with them. Pretty sure that is a cheap price for FN mags. If not, feel free to mock me. I dont really follow ps90 mag prices but it seemed low. http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=53963/Product/FNH-PS90-P90-MAGAZINES" onclick="window....

Or take a look at the Boberg XR9-S. Great mousegun in 9mm. Also, given the design, it would be interesting to see it in 5.7 :-) Boberg XR9s Length - 5.1" Height - 4.2" Width - .95" Weight - 17.5 oz. Rorhbaugh R9S Length - 5.2" Height - 3.7" Width - .83" Weight- 13.5 oz. Both run about the same pric...

Re: A fix for the CMMG 10 round mag extension.
I've seen so many "brand name" aftermarket magazine extensions fly into outerspace and a bunch of barrels that shooters could never outshoot. The one exception to that is the Taylor Freelance extension for small frame Glock mags (Glock 17, 22, 31, etc.). They are MUCH better than the factory extens...

Re: Does FN have a Officer purchase program similar to Glock
FN does have a LEO program that started back up again this year. Search OMB guns to find a distributer. We passed on it because you have to sell at least 20 guns to LEOs each year. It's fine if you have a state that has a little bit of flexibility in what their independent sheriff offices decide to...

As a shooter who has owned several full auto MAC's including:
MAC 10 - .45
MAC 11 - .380
MAC 11/9
I can tell you that a semi-auto MAC is a PIG! It may look "Tacticool" but that is it! A MAC is a bullet hose in stock configuration.
