Re: Five-sevenN and pistol ranges

If the range can handle .460 S&W Magnum (350 grains at 2300 fps), hopefully 27 grains at 2100 fps won't be a problem, unless the backstop is thin.

Re: THIS SS195LF ANY GOOD?

PMC claims a 25-year shelf life for their lead-free primers, though it's not clear how these compare to the SS195LF primers. Recently I shot some of the oldest SS195LF from around 2005 and had no problems at all.

Re: Three Cheers for Obama!

I am curious as to your reasoning - manipulate us how & for what reason? I was thinking more of the knee-jerk buyers who had owned few or no guns. I can only speculate as to the reasons, but one possibility is a scheme to gain conservative support by not following through on implied threats of gun ...

Re: Whats the best shotgun to buy?

A Serbu Super Shorty is a nice addition or alternative -- basically a cut-down Mossberg 500 or Remington 870 with a folding front grip. This makes it into an AOW with only a 3-round capacity, but it's a good conversation piece. It certainly draws people to the display case at my local gunshop. http:...

Re: Copy Cat or Coincidence?

A certain big manufacturer copied Kel-Tec's P3AT and profited handsomely, so maybe Kel-Tec is just looking to get in on the game. The Grendel has been a very under-appreciated design.

I agree and have been using it for years. A big plus is that it's non-toxic, or at least labeled as such. Other CLPs tend to be labeled as "fatal when swallowed."

Instead of chrome plating, there's supposed to be some sort of "innovative coating" for long life. Hopefully that means rust resistance, but the official specs don't say much.

Re: AR-15 Suggestions

Colt and Bushmaster (and FN if you can) -- what's good enough for the US military should be good enough, even if contracts are awarded to the lowest bidder. In this case you are correct, but in most cases, the stuff the military buys is not the best one can obtain in the civilian world, like ammo a...

Yes, it's just a royal pain, though compressed CO2 does help some. The little brass bits inside crevices still take painstaking effort, but maybe it's not really necessary to get them all out.

Re: Mag Problems-New USG

One or two of my mags had similar issues, apparently due to slightly rough follower action. When you depress the follower, does it move smoothly without tilting or scraping the mag well? After mine were "broken in" a bit, the problem disappeared.

Re: Panic!! Airsoft guns convertable to real thing!!

The cost of buying the Taiwan-made airsoft gun and all the parts needed to convert it to an AR-15 comes to roughly $1,100 -- more than the cost of some real AR-15s. Whoa whoa whoa, when did ARs get so affordable? Pretty much during recent months as the Obama scare faded away. My local shop had a Bu...

Re: Can you trust SS197?

With some loads and hands, beavertail bite on 1911s can be almost as bad as hammer bite on Hi-Powers and the like -- similar to Kel-Tec P3AT, where the upper rear of the grip can bite even harder.
